Quick Question: Braidouts

Hi ladies,

you know when you refresh your braidout style by braiding do you wet it a little or just moisturise then braid?

Since the parting for the cornrows will not be at the exact same place as the first braid out will the new curls interfere with the old ones???

I do my braid outs with four single braids. When I redo them at night, I spritz some water-based moisturizing spray on each section, and put a bit of coconut oil on the ends. I don't find the braids not being in the same place as the previous ones interfere; if anything, it probably makes my braid out more full and nicer the next day

if u lightly comb out your old ones.....and spritz something that will dampen it (not completely wet it)...as well as add a styling lotion / moisturizer to it...

then your new pattern will show up more. and your old one won't interfere

I use water to refreshen rather than product because that would make my hair limp.

ita...except at night I rebraid into two plaits, one on either side. To me it always looks better the next day. You can check my fotki and see my day to day progression.

I think it just adds to the braid out.

I agree that spritzing it with a little water, or even an aloe/glycerine mix and then sealing with a light oil before you re braid is a good idea. It'll be wet enough to set, but it will also dry much much faster and hang a little more b/c it won't shrink so much.

ITA! I just moisturize and rebraid. The next day my braidout definition is greater. HTH!

I remist if I think it is necessary. Otherwise, I just moisturize and rebraid.
