Queston for the Fine Haired Ladies....

Upon joining this board I have learned so much. How to develop a regimen, what are the wrong products versus the right one's for my hair, and that my hair is actually fine. Now a last week I posted about finding a really good detangler - which I still have not purchased but will be doing so tomorrow. Anyhoo I wear wiggies most days of the week which is pretty much everyday and I wash 2x a week (1 CO one regular) however I only detangle on poo wash days. I have noticed as I continue to stretch out my relaxer that it is getting harder and harder to detangle my hair doing the same thing I was doing 3 months ago! I think this is because my hair is growing and the longer it gets the more it tangles...:ohwell:. My question is do you think this tangling is a result of not combing it at all during the week and only detangling it on poo wash days? Maybe it's just too difficult to do this low manipulation with fine strands :scratchch. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I can't do total no manipulation. Try finger combing gently to detangle your hair. I run my fingers through it and when I hit a patch that starts to snag I stop and use both hands to detangle that section. You can also try using a showercomb.

Well I'm not relaxed, but as a fine haired natural, if I wear my hear out (ie. twistout/braidout/sng(shake-n-go) detanglin is a nightmare! I only no poo, and when I was wearing wigs a lot, I would condish wash, apply a creamy, slippery leave in,and flat twist, or cornrow my hair in large sections. Daily I would use a leave-in spritz that did contain a bit of oil. Now as long as MY hair wasn't "out" the tangles got kept at bay. As soon as I wore my hair out for longer then a day, it was looking hot, but I knew that detangling would be tricky. I would suggest to soak your tresses in condish, mixed with oil, and only use a wide tooth comb to help you. Wash/condish in sections. Yes it's a pain at first, but well worth it!! Plus be sure to use a moisturizing leave in, and keep your hair under that wig in a protective style :) hth!!
