Of any one can respond I wanted to know what are y'all opinions on oral coloring do y'all think God frowns in this? Of I am meaning in a marriage
My 2nd is what do y'all think Gods views are on women n make-up as a Christian should we or should we not wear it?? I am a make up fanatic but I do know some Christians feel we shouldn't wear it especially COGIC, whom which I grew up n my while life n sometimes hv gotten rebuked for doing so
The foundation of my Church is Penacostal ("Holiness") and even though we define our foundation of faith as 'non-denominational'.... we've never left our foundation of 'Holiness' and it's principal teachings. I have friends who are 'strictly' COGIC and the one thing we have agreed upon is this...
"The marriage bed is undefiled". What happens between a man and his wife (
male and female --
which has to be emphasized these days) is between them and God and no one else.
There are COGIC couples who have 'oral' sex in their marriage and they keep it private. While there are others not only in the COGIC faith, but other denominations as well, who strictly do not believe that oral sex is permissable.
There is a consensus that anal sex is
completely forbidden. This is an 'afront' to God and to His plan and purpose for procreation. It's just simply forbidden and it's so obvious why it should be. The diseases which are carried and transferred by one's fecal matter is reason enough, let alone this is an act performed by homosexuals. The anal area is not designed for sex, no matter how many people may try to validate or defend it.
The subject of make-up being forbidden in many faiths stems from the account of Jezebel who painted her face for purposes of performing witchcraft, not for femininity or for softening her features. It is also based upon the scripture in I Peter...
I am personally involved with many Ministries, I am close friends with many Ministers, Pastors, and Christian organizations; I live in an Othodox Jewish community, and of each of these faiths I see a mix of those who wear makeup and those who do not, yet neither condemns the other for the difference.
I have close family members and very close friends who are Seventh Day Adventists (they belong to Berea Temple in MD), the women do not wear makeup or jewelry other than a wedding band. Yet, I notice that there are some COGIC Ministers who wear minimal makeup and small jewelry, nothing overstated and out of each of the Faiths I've mentioned in this post, the individuals are faithful to God in their ways of living for Him.
None of these women are wearing makeup or jewelry for the purposes of performing witchcraft as Jezebel did. None of these women are being immodest as it has been interpreted from the scripture in I Peter.
What has evolved is a matter of conscience among the Faiths in both areas you have questioned.
No one can tell a husband and wife what to do in their marriage bed. It's their business and God's. There are issues which should not take place such as pornograpy, other individuals, anal sex and sexual abuse, yet this should go without saying. Sex is a sacred part of marriage between a man and his wife not to be shared outside of one another; it should be enjoyed and received as a gift from God between them only.
Makeup is not a sin; no one was commanded 'not' to wear it. However, women were advised to be modest in apparel.
Personally, I do not wear makeup unless an occasion or event calls for it. I love the colors and the enhancements, but I also love my natural skin and having a 'clean' look. So, my preference not to wear it is not related to Faith. I just don't like looking 'made up'. In Church, I keep it quite minimal or none at all, but that's just me. Other women in Church wear more, and it hasn't hindered their walk with the Lord.
There are other threads on this and the other ladies here have much more to share and more helpful to you. Let's see what they share as well. I'll also try and locate the other threads. It's been a while since they were posted.
Blessings to you.
