Hey everone

Does anyone know of any links that can show me how to two strand twist correctly? Some youtubers say two stand like regular ponytails and others say twist the hair clockwise and counter clockwise while twisting..im so confused and i feel like im making it harder than it has to be:wallbash:

Secondly i have a lot of heat damage and am going to transition again however this time im not going to do a bc just let it grow out however is it "safe" and less damaging if i do rollersets and flexirods during the cold months or can that still cause permanent heat damage and straight pieces?

Thanks:yep:

bumping... but I thought that you were right- it's just like a ponytail. I haven't heard anything about twisting counterclockwise and then clockwise :look:

I don't do twists often, but the only special thing I do for twists is put a little gel on the roots before I twist, to keep the hair from unraveling at the roots and looking loose.

Also, I think roller sets and flexi-rods would be good during a transition. I used perm rods to do roller sets when I was transitioning. It helped blend the two textures and gave me a preview of how my hair might look all natural. I didn't use heat though; I let them air-dry.

i twist all in the same direction. i think some people reverse the direction at the end of twists to prevent unraveling... if you are transitioning maybe you should use gel to keep them together? i'm not sure

Go to www.essentialbalms.com . There is a video on there of how to 2 strand twist with the clockwise , counterclockwise direction thing.

I went to a natural hair seminar a couple of weeks back and she demonstrated how to do it on me. By twisting it like that the twist was much smoother looking . I haven't gotten the hang of it yet though.

Her products also were all good and made with natural ingredients. I'm a PJ but I'm determined to use this line and give it a chance to work on my natural hair.
