Question Mizani Butter Blends Users About MBB PerpHecting Créme

Hi Ladies!

I plan on self-relaxing this Sunday with Mizani Butter Blends. The instructions recommend rinsing the relaxer, then apply thing the PerpHecting Creme, rinse, neutralizing. The PerpHecting Creme is usually when I'd apply protein before neutralizing.

Now the PerpHecting Creme isn't a protein, but rather a ceramide, and ceramides aren't proteins (from what I've read, but if I'm wrong, correct me please!)

I just want to know how your hair feels after wards, because I'm wondering if I need to still add protein before I neutralize.... this whole self relaxing thing has been so stressful for me! :nono::nono:

I believe that ceramide does the same thing as a protein, to strengthen your hair but it doesn't make your hair hard. This is my junderstanding of it.

Hey AAO....you could go either way. If you use the Perphecting creme don't use a protein condish or vice versa...the objective is to nourish those strands when they are the most vulnerable and to bring down the PH (Hence PerPHecting)...you could go with the perphecting, protein, or moisturizing....

Thanks, very happy I know that only one is needed. I'll be going with the PerpHecting Creme in that case.

I am an avid Mizani BB user. In fact, it the only relaxer I use. And I use the entire system, with all the components. Its really a great relaxer produict. The perPHecting cream actually serves two purposes. It stops the chemical processing righjt away, immediately lowering the hair,s pH levels to normal. And it also infuses both proteins and ceramides into the already opened cuticles of the hair shaft. When I'm finished with my mizani service, my hair is like butterr! So smooth, soft, silky...but strong. You will not be disappointed with Mizani. I use the mild system because I love the small bit of texture that remains. Good lock!

Girl how do you manage to use this relaxer in mild (I saw your hair is 4b). I am 4a4b, I use super and smooth 1-2x depending on the section and I still have to leave it on for 18-20 min.

I found the perphecting creme in the small container so I am going to try that.

I think me using a collagen protein condtioner after relaxing was causing reversion. I did a small strand test and did not use a keratin condtioner after, just neutralized and I notice I get different results.

ditto to the entire post... i use the perphecting creme as well after i rinse out the mizani bb relaxer and my hair is so soft, touchable, and very strong.

Yeah, I know....using the mild actually leaves a bit of texture behind. Check out my fotki, you'll ba able to see some of the waves, but I like it. Right now, I don't need the hair to be bone straight, because I wont be wearing my hair until my first goal of bsl is met. I only wear protective styles. But I would imagine when I actually DO start wearing my hair out a bit more, I'll probably just rollerset for a straighter look....we'll see.:spinning:

I still dont understand how you are able to use mild and we have similar textures. If I used mild it would look like I did not have a relaxer. I tried reg and I had to keep it on toooo long to even get the look of your wet hair.

My last relaxer I used MIzani BB super and I finally got what I see in your fotki. I tried not smoothing and my entire processing time was 20 min and it looked like a relaxer barely touched my hair. So I did a corrective and smoothed 1x in the front and 2x in the back and finally I got it right. Maybe I will try smaller parts next time, IDK.

Whatever you are doing keep it up your hair looks fantastic.

Maybe your strand are denser? or you all prep your hair differently the week or so before relaxing?

I was just thinking this before I read your reply, I have very dense hair and my strands range from fine medium to course. I wash a few days before relaxing or else I will have mucho breakage the day of from parting. I also dont base, I tried that before and it caused more underprocessing than I preferred.

I am not going for bone straight, but I dont want to have to flatiron to get my hair straight either.
