inspired by BlueMoon (who, by the way has GORGEOUS hair!)

when youre flat ironing your hair (or pressing or whatever the case may be), how do you prevent it from reverting before you even finish?!?! blueMoon was having that problem (in her album :) ) and i know i will too, cuz i just have too much hair and i work real slow....i dont wanna make the effort to straighten just to have the back curl up by the time i get to the front!

so....any suggestions??

I've never pressed (just blow dryed) and used to have trouble making it last more than a couple of days. Now I could go two weeks (OK the edges need to be watered if you will by week two but the rest is pretty straight).

1-Wear a hat outdoors at all times unless it's very clearly not humid! ;) Wear a shower cap of course when bathing. Don't be afraid to pop a hat on as soon as you leave the salon! It's annoying but it's a way to make it last.
2-At night wrap it up and cover it with satin.
3-Use a pomade if you see it starting to curl and also at night before wrapping. Personally I use something that the hair stylist used on me--I liked it so I went ahead and bough it--Modern Organic Products (MOP) High Shine pomade--it's a clear, light pomade. It's $$$$ but at Monster Hair Products it's discounted. Or try something else that might work that's very light. I would check for something on the "other" side of the aisle if I were you.

Good luck! :)

The only way I can prevent that with my hair is if I blow-dry AND press it. I can't just blow-dry it and expect it to stay straight, nor can I air-dry my hair first and then press it. Unforntunately I have to do both which I don't like because it is a lot of heat. Like the other ladies suggested, make sure it's not humid wherever your straightening your hair.
