I've never heard that before, but it is rubbish. I've been natural 49 of my 50 years on this earth, an my scalp has never suffocated through all of the different lengths that I've chosen to wear from 3in to WL. I've flatiron/pressed, and worn it completely natural, and my scalp is fine either way.Recently I was told by two people that I had to keep my hair pressed or my scalp won't be able to breathe because my hair is so thick. I didn't let them do it but has anyone else heard this??

in that case, my hair must be suffocating
but no..thats not true.
and I really hope they are not hair stylists! It was very frustrating at first but it's getting alot better thank you for asking. Still not ready to cut it all yet.Stay far away from those people because they are lying. I would have bust out laughing in their faces. I'm laughing right now actually.
If that were true my scalp would have "suffocated" a long long time ago.
Anyway, how's your transition going?
It sure seems like it. I have yet to find anyone locally who seems like they know what they're talking about.People will tell you anything and everything....girlfriend you will hear it all being natural.
lolI have thick, compact hair myself, so I can see how it would LOOK like air can't get through
but no, it's not true.
They're not natural. One is a beauty school student who said she went natural once and couldn't stand it, the other is just a friend of my husbands who cornrowed my hair for me. I don't think I should let her touch me again. How does the two people who told you, with natural hair look like?
It fooled me.
Please put them on ignore mode.
trust me I am
