Question for naturals

Recently I was told by two people that I had to keep my hair pressed or my scalp won't be able to breathe because my hair is so thick. I didn't let them do it but has anyone else heard this??

Puleeeaase....no I have never heard of this and you need to keep doing what you are doing and NOT letting them talk you in to this mess. That is completely ridiculous. They are obviously not well versed in natural hair care.

Is that what that gasping sound is?? My scalp has been waiting to exhale for over 15 years now?? :pullhair: Po' thang. Silly me. I've been using my lungs to oxygenate my body, when I coulda been using my scalp. All this time...

:ohwell:

As long as we're talking wacky, I'd counter their faulty logic with my own (faulty) logic:

*ahem: Kinky/curly/coily hair actually projects OUT from the scalp more than straight hair does. When hair is straight from the roots, it lies flat against the scalp and the scalp can't "breathe." Coily hair, or hair that projects out. leaves the roots of the hair more aerated. Coily scalps have better cardio. :yep:

Let me stop....:lachen:

This is hilarious to me. I can't stop laughing.

P.S.
Enjoy your thick hair. Many people desire what you've got! :yep:

:lachen::lachen:You guys are hilarious. What about this one. The same girl who cornrowed my hair also told me after I had my hair trimmed (slowly getting rid of my relaxed ends), that I shouldn't be getting them clipped and that I should just wash my hair with eggs and mayonnaise to reverse the old relaxer. Has anyone heard this one??

That is tomfoolery. How can you reverse a relaxer when you have chemically altered the bonds in your hair? I cannot be reversed! If this lady has more than 3 strands on her hair, it's truly a miracle!

Please stop talking to these folks. :lachen::lachen::lachen:

I swear that when I hear people say stuff like that, I think that they are secretly working for somebodies relaxer company! :spinning:
