My curls flip up, because I only like tight curls when my hair is a lot longer, otherwise it gets TOO BIG. So, when I pin curl, I roll the hair up, and use bigger sections...the curls come out bigger and just on the ends. Did that make sense?

Do you comb your hair when you take the pins out? I finger comb mine and I do have some pieces that kind of flip up like that, but for the most part, they are kind of like very loose spirals or something of the sort. Can you see in this pic?
