question about WGO and its smelliness....

a lot of you ladies have been saying that WGO stinks...and youve also said that some batches stink more than others....so, i had this thought....

does the effectiveness of the batch differ from stinky to not-as-stinky to oh-my-damn-stinky??? like does the stinkier batch work better or worse than a not-so-stinky batch??

I really don't know the answer to your question, because I have only purchased one bottle. All I know is the oil stinks, but it does work. I added a few drops of peppermint essential oil to mine in order to mask the smell, the peppermint oil helps some.

I only own one bottle so I can't really respond to your exact question either. I find the smell less than agreeable but I don't think my batch is overpowering- or at least not enough to overpower the good smelling products that I use. I think it's a good oil but I'd wager that there are other oils that give the same moisture w/o the side effect.

I like WGHO...at first I was applying it to dry hair and a dry scalp, which made my hair waaaayyyy too sticky. I just finished a bottle and I have two left. The smell isn't that bad to me-I kinda like it. My boyfriend smells my hair and likes it so it must be alright. I oil my scalp and ends while my hair is wet after a CO wash or shampoo to help keep my new growth from tangling and breaking at the line of demarcation. Works for me! :)

I don't know about effectiveness, but the last bottle I got was so smelly, no essential oil could knock that smell out. It smelled like a nasty apartment hallway at dinnertime.

IMO they all work the same from my experience. What I do is mix it with my Humectress and use it as a leave in. This is what works for me and I do this nightly. Good luck.
