Puritans Pride Amino 1500

Aside from Puritan Pride having some potent biotin they also have some great Amino 1500. I've been taking Puritan's Pride Biotin for about 7 months now and since it's the only biotin I've been taking from the start I really have nothing to compare it to, but I will say it works. I added Puritans Pride Amino 1500 3 months ago and my hair took off. I definitely would recommend it to those of you who take some sort of Aminos.
 
That's great legs? About how much growth do you get per month since starting the amino? Is it a liquid supplement or a tablet? TIA
 
Are you taking anything else besides those two products (Puritan Pride Amino 1500 and biotin)? How much Amino 1500 do you take?
 
so do the aminos work like the biotin by increasin yo hair growth or jus the texture and health? as if 11 pills a day wasnt enuf yall got me contemplatin buyin them too /images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
That's what I've been trying to tell you guys...PROTEIN. I think this is why I'm getting about an inch per month...I'll have to try that kind when I'm done with my LLP Brand...or Twinlab..or whatever it is.. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif
 
I'm going to start taking the Puritain's Pride Amino 1500 because it has the same ingredients as HF37, but with higher quantities and for a cheaper price (can't beat $21.35 for 3)
 
Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I take 3-4 tablets daily. I added them only because I felt like my hair growth had reached a roadblock. When I added them my hair took off. I think I'm closer to reaching my goal of getting close to an inch a month. Right now I take:

PP biotin
PP Amino 1500
Lechitin
MSM
vitamin e
evening primrose oil
sea kelp
multivitamin
HSN vitamin
(I didn't include the dosages because the only thing I stay consistent with the dosage is biotin which I take 10 mgs)

About 1.5 months ago I starting alternating the PP's Amino 1500 with TwinLabs liquid amino fuel. I've had my braids extensions in for 3 months now and prior to getting them put in my hair in the front came to right above my lip. Yesterday I took out some braids in that area and my hair is almost an inch below my chin! /images/graemlins/grin.gif I guess I finally must be doing something right. /images/graemlins/drunk.gif /images/graemlins/drunk.gif /images/graemlins/drunk.gif /images/graemlins/drunk.gif
 
Hey legs, congrats on the hair growth. I have one more question.....what are the size of these pills? are they huge? TIA
 
Finally, a product being recommended that I actually already own. /images/graemlins/clap.gif I better get those Amino 1500 out, dust them off and start taking them. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

They are about the size of Ultranourish Hair (a bit thicker). However, they are coated so they are easier to swallow then the Ultranourish Hair, for me anyway. Added bonus, there is no taste to them, UNH taste horrible.

Congrats on your hairgrowth Legs! I've heard of people alternating supplements each month so their hair won't experience any stunted or slowed down growth. Your addition of the aminos jump started your program and now I'm going to look and see if PP offers a liquid Amino supplement as well.
 
Has anyone tried the Twinlabs Amino liquid fuel concentrate as a substitute. I used to take those big old horse pills, and after knowing how long it takes to break one of those tablets down in my system (if at all) I switched to the Twinlabs. It's a good option for those that can't swallow them. And they are big.
 
Londondiva, I have this in my fridge, and have for quite some time now. I cannot stand the taste of this stuff. I don't know what to do, I really need some protein... I think it can make a big difference in my hair growth. Maybe I'll just suck it up and take it

I also take the PP 1500 and have for several months. I agree with Legs they are huge though. It's a good thing I don't have a problem swallowing large pills. I've been tempted to try the liquid Amino thing but since I'd rather deal with the size than a bad taste *yuck* I'll stick with the PP.
 
I take the PP Amino 1500 and TwinLabs Liquid Amino Fuel. I alternate between the 2. The Twinlabs Liquid also has b-vitamins in it.

Hey Legz, thanks for the tips on aminos. I have always heard that aminos should be part of any hair vitamin regimen but have been too lazy to pick this up. Where do you buy your PP Amino 1500? Do you go to a store or buy on line? I usually get my vits from Vitamin Shoppe, but they don't sell Puritans Pride stuff. I don't mind buying on line, but by the time shipping and handling is factored in it makes more sense for me to just find a store I can walk into. I guess if push comes to shove, I could always buy another type of Amino 1500 or higher, as long as it has good enuf concentrations of the aminos that will make a difference.

I buy my PP Amino 1500 from the Puritan's Pride Website. All of my vitamins either come from PP or Vitamin Shoppe
 
Thanks, Legs! The Puritan Pride web site has got a kick-ass sale going on - buy one bottle, get two free. I compared their ingredients to HF37, and PP definitely has higher amino amounts. I think I'll order some tomorrow, since with shipping &amp; handling the total comes up to about $25. Good looking out, girl!
