Puffs

I would like to wear my hair in a puff. My hair type is 4a. I am currently wearing a wash n go and my hair is between SL and Apl length. Does anyone have any tips and suggestions for getting it to stay in the ponytail holder and what do you use in your hair? I have some Ic Fantasis gel. I was thinking i could use that and a leave in.

I usually put some Miss Jessie's or castor oil on my hair and I use a satin scarf (long thin one) instead of a ponytail holder. I put it on and slowly move it up, tightening until I get the desired look. Then I wrap it around and tuck it in. Here is a pic. Q

Well, that is very cute. You don't use any type of gel?

I sent you a pm Yellagirl.

For my puff, after I cowash with Suave naturals, I apply my moisturizing hair gel, Long Aid (from Walmart), to all of my hair. I then brush the front, sides, and back with my denman up to the puff position. Because Long Aid is only for moisture, I have to add Fruit of the Earth aloe vera gel to the sides, back, and front to lay it down. This will keep everything in place, keep your edges from frizzing, and will not make your hair hard.

I use a long ouchless band to secure everything in place.

HTH.

(:wink2: for you too, Nonie!!!)

Great looking puff, Que!!!

I find that using flax seed gel holds my better than anything I've used. Brush my hair back put the gel on it and use a ouchless band on it.

You're welcome, sweetie, shame on me for doing that in the first place, I sometimes forget that there are newbies and lurkers that have just started coming to LHCF, who are looking for help and ideas and haven't seen my previous comments of what I do for my hair. Lesson learned.
