Protein vs. Non-protein

How can I tell which products do or don't contain protein? For example, what ingredients do I need to look for in shampoos or conditioners? Some products are obvious and clearly state that they contain protein and others don't. So how do I know?

Generally, any products that says it strengthens, repairs or stops breakage is a protein condish

Keratin is the most popular form of protein, but there are also proteins that strengthen and moisturize simultaneously. Wheat, soy and silk proteins come to mind :)

Wow, I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to know which products I have that have protein and which one's don't....like are amino acids protein or not?

Oh, and I kno that humectant and glycerin are keywords for moisture...:yep:

Hopefully others will chime in......

Here's what I personally look for:
anything HYDROLYZED (this means the molecules are small enough to go to the very core of the hair shaft..)
Wheat proteins
Soy proteins
amino proteins/amino acids
silk proteins
vegetable proteins
collagen
egg white protein
silk amino complex
hydrolized silk
hydrolized collogen
milk protein (listed as "lactalbumin" in Aubrey Organics GPB)

.....I'm sure there's a whole lot more...but these immediately come to mind.
