I can't figure out what my hair wants... I've been DC (qp intense & Queen Heleene's Cholesterol) and co washing...and it's breaking not shedding like crazy and hard should I do another aphogee protein treatment? Load it with oil? I don't know what it wants HELP!

BTW I have COARSE coily dry 4a/b hair (though at the nape I'm begining to think it's more 3 something) and transitioning

You need to step up on your moisture by DCing more with moisture-based products. You should first try to clarify your hair, then take a nice rich moisture-based only conditioner for about 20 mins under an dome-dryer. Than make sure you set your hair with moisture based leave-in, and moisturizers, and seal with castor oil. You should do this for a few weeks and see how that helps, and then start incorporating protein.

When I had that problem I baggied overnight with a moisturizing conditioner and then rinsed in the morning.

Have you been using heat?

btw, I'm also transitioning :yep:.

When was the last time you did a protein treatment?

If your hair (the ends) feels too stretchy when wet then it's weak and you may want to do a protein treatment follwed by a moisturizing conditioner.

If you still see broken hairs after a couple of days, you may want to trim or dust your ends to prevent beakage from traveling up the hair shaft.

Since you are transitioning then you have the keep the line of demarcation strong and moisturized by using a mild protein/moisturizing conditioner regularly.

Can you suggest a conditioner? I have no clue what I should be looking for (NEWBIE) I have some glycerin... does that count as a moisturizer? I just ran out of carrot oil but have some hot 6 and shea butter... olive oil of course...
