Real Housewife of Houston
I posted this on fb and put the wrong date on it. I thought it had been 2 years. Them I realized… I didnt move to Houston until fall of '12, so this had to be last summer!!! Hallelujah!!!!

Back story, when I moved to Houston in the fall of '12, my hair broke off greatly. I had to cut it to NL. It was so bad that I refused to take a pic. The left is a pic from summer '13 and the right is today. I'm a slow grower, so this is a big deal for me!!!! I'm right at APL.

Just wanted to share. My claim to fame: roller sets.

Great progress! Your hair does well with color! What caused your setback? Are you still doing hair? I wanna inbox you a question!

Thank you a so very much, ladies!! :heart2: shortdub78 I'm speculating that it was the hard water. Nothing in my reggie had changed, except I moved to a new state. My reggie is incredibly simple, so it's easy to follow, and I had no problems prior to then. I still have my license, but I stopped practicing. I hope to pick it back up in '15. I absolutely love doing hair, especially color, and made a pretty penny doing it. You can inbox me anytime!! :yep:

beautiful hair and colour.
If you dont' mind could you please share how you keep your colour from fading too quickly, I had mine dyed professional only a week ago (coppery bronze kinda red), but it is already fading around the hairline going blond:perplexed.
how soon a colour can be touched up?
thanks

lina I'm relaxed and my reggie is super easy. I roller set once a week, usually on Sunday, with my own little mix. I mix wrap lotion with water and lottabody 2:1:1, respectively. I use coconut oil on my hair every night before I wrap. That's it. Since I'm in a new city and don't know/have to impress anyone, I've been bunning a lot too. My buns look better on previously rolled hair. That's it.

I relax every 8 weeks with Mizani Butter Blends mild and shampoo every week using either my old faithful Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship or Joico. I recently tried the Herbal Essence Moroccan Shine conditioner and I like it A LOT!

g.lo There really isn't a way to prevent color fading. The color fades because red color molecules wash away very easily. Also, it's a fact that shampoos that are designed to reduce color fading are also very drying, so beware. I add a little color to my conditioner when I wash my hair to help with the fading and I only use semi-permanent color that DOES NOT have to be mixed. Some people call these glosses. Anything that has to be mixed will reopen the hair shaft and cause you damage! I use the color gloss once a month. Oils cause the color to fade quicker, but we need the oils to keep our hair in good shape. IDK, it's a balancing act for sure. I only color glaze the blond every so often... I wouldn't do it more than once per month. I have seen breakage in clients who do it too often, especially when trying to use heat with it to cover stubborn grays.
