So I went for my relaxer today, and I had to get about an inch cut off due to split ends,:perplexed I thought I was going to come out of there close to MBL, but it looks like my setback and left my stuck at BSL. I'm all sorts of mad and sad!:dazed: Anyway, can someone give me any tips on how to stop and/or prevent split ends?

What do you seal your ends with? Something light or heavy? Is it too late to join the challenge?

I've heard great things about castor oil, but I also heard it doesn't smell good. Does the smell linger?

I have Oyin whipped pudding, could this be used as a sealant? Does it expire? I bought it back in September.

kaytorry I actually use castor oil to seal my ends; it doesn't smell like anything to me and it does disappear. I mainly wear twists, so the oil is a heavy sealer. When my hair is loose, I use any ol' butter or light oil that I have. (I don't really seal my loose hair. Don't be bad like me. :look:)

I really like Oyin's WP; it may be better for your ends than castor oil if you wear your relaxed hair straight or down. You can still use the jar you bought in September unless it looks discolored. Generally, I can keep Oyin products for 1 year.
