Preparing for Summer Growth - Detox!

Edie

I usually try to detox at least every three months, but I am going to a 3 month detox (just the tea kind) to prepare myself for some good hard hitting summer growth. I hoping that with my body thoroughly cleansed of any toxins combined with the humidity, sunlight, warm weather and all the vitamins/nutrients that I am taking I will get a great amount of growth over the summer. Also going to push the green foods (chrolphyll, chorella, wheatgrass, spirulina and alfafa).

Wish me luck!

P.S. I know some of you were going to start detoxing. How did it go?

Sounds like agreat idea Edie. Can you share your detoxing tools. ie. tes, which foods you'll eat and for how long? I'm looking forward to getting some good growth this summer also. I'm already taking spirulina and chlorella.

I am just going to be doing a simple detox of drinking detox tea, staying away from sugar, low amounts of caffeine (I am a diet coke fan), low low amounts of white foods you know eat wheat bread, brown rice, sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes and use honey to sweeten my decaf tea (I love iced decaf tea in the spring/summer. The tea will make you go to the bathroom more often (urination mainly) as it cleans the toxins from your body as you will lose a little weight too. If you want to do a more thorough detox vitamin shoppe sells several good ones, but expect to go the bathroom for numbers 2s as well as 1s. It will not be so bad as you will embarrass your self or anything, but you may find yourself going as much as 3 to 4 times a day and needless to say you will lose weight this way also, feel more energy. Do a search on detox on the board. I and a lot of ladies posted a lot of information on detoxing on this forum.

Thanks Edie. I already have some info on detoxing, but I wanted to pick your brain

. Matter of fact, I have the daily detox tea that youmentioned in another of your posts. Thanks for outlining the dietary changes you'll make. Good luck.

Thanks Edie, It looks like I started my post before you started your entry but, submitted after you finished ur entry...

Are you going to try Cerrassee tea? That's good stuff (bitter though). I'm going to follow your lead. I do this once every few months but I've fallen off. I'm interested to see the difference this time around.

Don't forget to detox your scalp and skin as well. Refrain from using any products with petroleum, mineral oil, or animal products.

I need to do some detoxing myself. Is this also beneficial for clear skin? If so, I really need to do this, cause I want flawless skin this summer.
Added hair growth would be a bonus.......

Absolutely! When detoxing your whole body benefits becuase you're flushing out toxins and impurities out of your system.

has anyone on here done a MAJOR like colon cleanse ? ? ? i heard it's VERY beneficial for getting rid of all kinds of stuff . . . even parasites since allegedly 1 in 2 americans is infected with them. i'm thinking about it myself and don't wanna be alone in this if i decide to do so.

Parasites are no joke! I did research on this...and frankly it scared the s*** out of me! I don't like the idea of something alive and crawling around inside of me but I did read that MSM detoxifies parasites out of your system too-I'm too scared to try anything else. I don't know what is worse...knowing they could possibly be inside of you or taking something to "remove" them...believe me the stories I read was tragic...but I'm scared of almost everything that crawls anyway.

You TOO ? ? ? i knew i wasn't the only one. i'll have to give MSM a try. the way people described seeing stuff "come out of 'em" made me wanna

for real.

It horrified me...I didn't get the gag reflex-I almost went into cardiac arrest.

I want to start detoxing , but the losing weight part is tad of a turn off. I'll talk to my doctor about it

Hey Army - have you used the Daily Detox yet? If so, how has it been working? And did you just get it from Vitamin Shoppe?

TIA

If you plan to do this, you'd better make sure you have some vacation time coming to you, cause your gonna take up permenent residence on the toilet, lol. My aunt does this every 3-6 months and she lives in the bathroom.

I've drank a little here and there, but never consistently. I'm gonna start next way drinking once a day for the 30 days. I got mine from the VS.

This is a good opportunity to "clean out your house", so to speak. I'm only not ready for dextoxing for the summer, but for the spring as well. We all want to look good for the warm weather ahead, right? Here's my regimen: I'm going to purchase some dextox teas and colon cleanser from GNC next month. I'll also include more green leafy veggies and some alfalfa sprouts in my diet. No startch, or table sugar, more whole grains, soy and whole fruits. And of course, pure H2O, and plenty of exercise. I want to lose weight and be energized. Good luck to you all. Toodles.

I have been reading up a lot about colonics. Has anybody here had one before? It is supposed to cleanse your colon and large intestine.

I am starting a 10 day detox similar to yours for the same reasons, except I don't want to loose weight. So much do I want energy! I am going to go to the vitamin shoppe store tomorrow and get detox teas and colon cleaner. I have no idea what kind but I have to start tomorrow because it is my spring break.

Yes honeycomb, detoxing for clear skin is important. You should detox internally and externally. What good is it doing to eat healthily and then put pore cloggin products on the face and scalp? And vice versa--it doesn't make sense to use great natural products when you putting garbage in your mouth. I'm goon detox too. Good thread Edie. How does detoxing improve your well being?

There is a book by a Christian doctor called Toxic Relief that is very good.
I am going to do a colon cleanse with Herbal Colon Cleanse by Arbonne Intl. It is a mild one. Careful which colon cleansers you chooses. Some of them can really tear you up.

check curezone.com for cleansing info if you are interested on a total detox. I wanted to do a colon cleanse but did not want to lose weight so I but some pills that you can take and not change your diet too much. currently I'm doing a bowel cleansing before I start the colon cleansing next week...

Question about the detox teas: has anyone ever used the Celestial Seasonings 'A.M. Detox?' If so, how did that work for you?
