Update - Pray for me my - visit to a Dominican Salon
All right ladies, I'm on my way to a Dominican salon for a blow out. Pray for me!!!! Please believe I will be using my outside voice and pimp hand if my directions are not followed. I'll be back later to post pictures.
ETA - This must have been the shortest salon visit in history. I walked in at 5:55 pm and left at 6:23. I washed my hair before I went. I was EXTRA paranoid about the heat. I applied Sabino Block to fight the frizz and as a heat protectant. For extra measure, I also sprayed a little heat protectant, GVP something. I get there and she starts on me immediately. She used a big comb without being told. Although I had mine in my purse just in case. The hairstylist next to mine had some KCCC Knot Today on her countertop.
The hairstylist also added some Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum. I probably should have told her not to add the Skinny Serum. My hair turned out a little on the greasy side. However, my ends look fine. I have to admit my hair noticeably thinner. I don't know if it is thinner from the heat or too many serums. It may be a little bit of both. But for $30 and 30 minutes, I will live. I don't know if I will go back again. It is A LOT of heat. My strands are fine, all that heat would be oo much a few times a year. I tell you this, I bet this straight hair won't revert any time soon. When I get my hair pressed, it starts to poof by the next day. My photographer isn't home, so I will post pictures tomorrow. I already miss my natural hair.
My photographer went on strike so I had to take pictures myself (which very hard). To give my hair more volume I rolled it. When it's straight it looks like crap. Again, I think that is my fault with too much serum.
