I was just wondering b/c I'd read somewhere that WnG's are bad if done too frequently. So what are other styles that can be done after you have done the big chop? Does anyone wear wigs? Should I do that to give my hair a break sometimes?

I'm bumping this because I am looking for post bc haircuts. What you ladies got??? I want a cute natural style to have my stylist cut my hair into!

I wear a lot of wigs. If my hair isn't under a wig it's usually in a bun.

you guys will deff have to do some natural fotki stalking.:yep: And look at their BC folders.

flat twists
two strand flat twists
finger coils
puffs
fro
stretched fro
twists
twist-out
braids/braid-out

check my fotki if you want.

Instead of wash-n-gos, how about baggying your hair and combing it in the AM. I always would put my hair in plaits as that made it not tangle and also made morning combing a breeze.

This was my hair after I twisted it for the night and baggied. I undid in the AM and then made a pulled back puff using my comb to push the hair back and then sliding one of those big ouchless elastic bands back.

When I would braid my hair after applying SCurl and baggy, my hair would be more stretched and I'd get a bigger puff:

Then of course you can flat twist or cornrow the front and wear a puff in the back. Again, I'd baggy at night after putting the back in square plaits. In the AM the back would be easy to comb and I'd be out the door in no time:

I never did a wash-n-go. Just baggy-n-go.

thanks... I guess right now I don't have enough to do most of these styles- or the skills

I do baggy every nite and I just spray my hair in the am with water and then use my suave tropical coconut cond and ic gel. I don't know how to french braid or conrow or flat twist so I guess I"m stuck. :nono: but thanks for all your responses and suggestions ladies! Maybe I can ask my brothers fiancee to braid the front for me. :yep:

mshottienelson, I just took a gander at your album and it appears that you have enough hair do to twists/mini twists, finger coils and possibly braids. When I BCed I had about 3 inches of hair and the only style I did was finger coils, then I moved up to twists. Take a look at SupremeBeing's fotki, she has lots of creative styles. I'm sure youtube has some hair tutorials you can use, as well.

you think so??? I guess I will have to do some youtube stalking then. thanks

Coil Outs... see my siggy

Southerntease, your hair is just adorable!

To the OP I don't have many skills in the styling department either, but I've been mostly twisting 4-5 days of the week and then wear my hair out the remainder. I found I was messing with my hair too much when I washed it everyday, plus it takes forever for my hair to dry when I do a full wash, so I hated going around all day with a wet head.

If my twists start looking bad (or look bad right off the bat  ) I've been baggying them while wearing a wig.

Finger coils and twists (and twist outs) are probably the easiest things to do IMO. I like finger coils, but I just can't get them to really last for the time it takes to do them.

I agree look at some of these fotkis...so much good info to be had!

Ok, I'll try that. Your hair is so pretty!
