Hi

I have very underprocessed hair which mats when wet. I have heard that this product is good to help smooth the cuticle, help the hair retain more moisture and thus help detangling.

Has anyone used this with success?

The treatment or Conditioner?

What stage do you use it, in between the poo and DC?

Can you use it after a relaxer/semi perm colour, if so when?

Can you use it everytime you wash?

Has it ever done more harm than good?

How has it helped you?

Thanks

Hey,

I am using it now and I haven't had any problems with it. Before my hair would dry very quickly and wouldn't hold moisture at all. I got the conditioner in a small bottle and I have been using it every week right after pooing and before dc. I will put it on and wash/shave and then rinse out and apply my dc.

I am seeing a difference. Before I could add my leave ins and stuff and put my hair in a bun and it would be completely dry in about 4 hours, now the next moring my ends are still wet. It has been a great help to my hair.

Hi Lonei!

My hair is underprocessed too and I use Porosity Control. I only use the conditioner. You can use it anytime you want. I've never had any bad experiences with this conditioner. When using it after a relaxer, I apply it after I've washed my hair with the neutralizing shampoo. I don't use it consistently because I have so many other products but it is a great conditioner. It detangles and gives a great sheen to my hair. It also helps my hair accept and retain moisture.

I would like to know the answers to these questions too. Is anybody going to help us?:lachen:

Porosity control has been a life saver lately...even more so than clarifying. I use the shampoo and corrective conditioner (not the mendex). 've used it for about 3 weeks before my touch up and the relaxer took even better. Also, now other conditioners are working better on my hair.

I've never used the mendex. I'm sure it's good especially if you have some damage.

This is how I plan to use it when i relax:

Relax
Neutralise
Colour
Porosity Control Con (5mins with heat, shower cap and steamer)
Deep Condition

When I wash every 3 weeks:

Poo
Porosity Control Con (5mins with heat, shower cap and steamer)
Deep Condition

Is this ok?

I think the routine sounds great, it should really help with the matting you said you were having. I've never tried to PC conditioner with heat, you'll have to let us know the results of that.

You might not even need to leave it in 5 mins before you deep condition. When I use if before each wash, it only sits in for a 1min. or so and it does the trick ever time.

Has anyone used this with success? I've used Porosity Control for about 2 years

The treatment or Conditioner? Conditioner

What stage do you use it, in between the poo and DC? I mix it with my Deep Conditioner

Can you use it after a relaxer/semi perm colour, if so when? Yes after I relax and neutralise, I mix it with my deep conditioner.....I can't comment on the color because I've never colored my hair.

Can you use it everytime you wash? I use it every week mixed with whatever conditioner I am using.

Has it ever done more harm than good? No never

How has it helped you? It has always been good to me as far as detangling and smoothing the cuticle.....also since I started using it my hair takes a very long time to dry (2-3 days if put in a bun after washing). I cannot wash without it.

ditto to what everyone else has said. It's great for detangling and moisturizing. I love it. In fact this thread just reminded me that I'm getting low and I need to go buy another bottle. Off to Sally's...
