Poo in shower or in sink?

Hi Ladies!

I am new and I come not bearing gifts but with a question. :)

Does anyone not shampoo in the shower to reduce tangles? I always shampoo in the shower because it seems like I get more tangles when I lean over the sink. By now, I am really tired of getting in the shower twice just to shampoo my hair.

Do you shampoo in the shower or lean over the sink? And what is your length?

Thanks

I'm at APL and I wash my hair in the shower: i'll shampoo and DC my hair: while its wrapped under a hot towel and shower camp: i take that 15 mins to wash up then rinse my dc out: then i'll use a regular conditioner and for that 1 min: i'll brush my teeth or wash my face: then i'm done: total time = 25 mins

I do all of my hair washing, shampoo or co-washing in the shower. If I'm feeling really lazy I'll just sit on the edge of the tub and use the detachable shower head to wash my hair.

Washing in the sink is a huge no-no for me. My hair not only tangles but it also goes down the drain, I don't have enough room, I bang my head on the faucet... The shower is much better.

My hair is tailbone length.

Shower, but it is a pain in the butt to hop in and out. It is not bad to use the tub faucet though, there is usually more water pressure so you don't end up so tangled up.

I used to wash my hair in the sink when it was shorter but the thought of my hair going in drain whilst still attach to my head is gross, so I always wash my hair in the shower

Sawry, I read the title to the thread and thought you were talking about something else!

I wash my hair in the shower. It makes things a lot easier for me, especially when it comes time to detangle. Just made brastrap.

why are do you have to hop in an out the shower????

for me i use the shower, and im almost brastrap length.

I hop in and out the shower.

I don't care for it, but it's only once a week and I consider it one of the sacrifices I make for my hair. It's really not a big deal to me though.

I use the sink for relax days only. Otherwise I wash in the shower. The longer it gets, the harder it is to wash in the sink.

OMG, I thought the same thing - like someone had done something nasty in your shower and sink.

I wash my hair in the shower. I'm barely grazing shoulder-length when stretched.

Interesting. I co wash in the shower, but I do regular wash (with shampoo) and DC under the faucet (leaning over the tub). I find in the shower I always have stuff running down my face, etc and it annoys me. I just cut my hair so it's about bsl.

I'M BSL and I usually shampoo in the shower, get out to DC under the hooded dryer, get back in to rinse in the shower. I must say it does help with the tangles but I wish I had an easier way.

Thanks for all the responses.

I wash my hair in the shower b/c it's faster, easier, more comfortable and goes down my back instead of the drain. BTW, my hair is near hip length (unstretched).

I do everything in the shower. Once I begin self relaxing I guess I will wash that out in the sink with a detachable thingy.

My hair is still short, so I wash and rinse mostly in the sink. If I do use the shower, I wash my hair, put in instant conditioner, wash myself, rinse the instant out, then put the DC in. I get under the dryer for the DC and rinse that out in the sink. I get to exausted to climb in and out of the shower.

ROFLMAO...I LOVE THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD!!! :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

I "poo" in the shower! Better water pressure, massages my scalp and gets my hair clean without tangles.

I am APL, although not fully, just there and I use the basement sink (that real deep one, its clean though) to wash and condition. Let my DC set in and then get in the shower and rinse and detangle. If I don't feel like doing that then I get in the shower and wash and shampoo...then use the tub to rinse out the DC. The water pressure and amount from the tub gets out tangles for me alot better than a regular sink.

I'm so close to apl. I shampoo my hair in the sink;apply my dc and plastic cap for 45 minutes; and I jump in the shower to detangle and rinse out my dc.

Poo in the shower only. On porosity control day, i'm in and out 3 times. It is a pain, but if I didn't, my hair would be a tangled mess.:perplexed

Always in the shower, even when I dye my hair, I at least am leaning into the shower to rinse.
My sinks are way too short (for now. We are going to have all the counters raised to a more reasonable height; at 5 ft 7, I am the shortest person in the house!!! Standard sinks and counters are hard on the upper back, shoulders and neck.) for me to use and it just wastes time when I can just jump in the shower, shampoo, rinse slather on conditioner let it sit while wash the rest of my body and rinse and hop out.
Also, leaning forward over the sink to wash hair is not good for people who have ear problems; the water gets in the ear when washing in that position and causes infections "swimmer's ear" for suseptible(sp?) people more than washing in the shower.

My hair is a wee bit past bra strap, natural (except for the dye.:look: )

My hair is tailbone length.

Same answer, except my hair is waist length.

The sink is a nono for me, causes really bad hair tangles.

My normal wash regimen is VERY simple: Wash w/Shikakai/Amla Powders, Rinse, DDTA as a detangler and go.

On henna/deep conditioning days it entails a few trips to the shower but it beats the tangles.

My length is 1" shy of APL.

I always shampoo in the shower with my hair in braids to avoid tangling. Then I apply instant conditioner, and if I want to do a deep conditioning treatment afterwards I rinse under the detachable shower head.

I always take the lid of a large tupperware container and put it in my sink to allow water to flow down the drain, but also to stop my hair from going down the sink. I'm the minority here!!! I noticed SOOO many tangles when I washed my hair in the shower before all I heard was *snap**snap**snap* everywhere, and will never do it again!!!

I'm APL.

I shampoo in the shower. I did shampoo leaning over the side of the tub before with braids, and it turned out ok, but I'm going to stick with the shower. I'm a little past bsl I think.

I prefer the shower but hate getting in and out 3 times. My hair is a little past shoulder so I can still get away with the sink, but I have more tangles.

Right now I shampoo in the sink and wash out the conditioner in the shower. I have really short hair, and we also have a mesh stopper in our sink to collect whatever.

I am considering showering twice instead. My tangles are depressing.
