Have any of you ladies done a virgin relaxer at home? Can you share your process?

is that perm. color in your hair? The relaxer process is one thing, but what you have already done to your hair prior to relaxing will determine what will happen after the relaxer.
If this is the color and length of your natural I would suggest waiting until your hair is atleast 4-5 inches.
If you have perm color I would suggest waiting more than a month - and focus on moisture, porosity and last a few protein treatments.
If she used henna, she should wait 2 or 3 weeks, focus on moisture treatments and do a light protein treatment one week before (aphogee 2 min - nothing heavier)
Also make that last week a clarifying wash then aphogee. (got that tip from IDTH and Amerika)
Side note: Can you relax over color treated hair? I have never colored my hair, so I wouldn't know.
Y'all are bomb
I sooo wasn't expecting this many replies! The color is permanent, however my hair is black now[permanent again]. I do henna though
My hair is longer than the pic below, so 'slapping it on' wouldn't be of much help, even though it sounds like the easiest way. I will most likely get it done professionally, but most of the people here are professionals! Y'all may not have licenses and whatnot, but you have years of experience, and beautiful hairI just haaaate paying for things I can do myself. I use to do my friends relaxers and touch ups all the time at school, but none of them were natural. Hmmmmm.
Either way though, I'll be waiting 6 months to a year to get my hair in tip top shape, and to use up all these products lol. So I have 6 months to learn all I can about relaxers!
Thanks ladies![]()
