i haven't but have you considered having it done professionally for the first time and then maintaining? perhaps, you're more skilled than i am, but i'd be afraid to play with the chemicals. your hair is cute now:) it looks good on you, love the color.

hope others chime in soon!

I agree with the lady above me, your hair is beautiful!!

Any who, when my hair was that short, my beautician just slapped it on my hair... DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST WAY TO DO IT, but it did the job, I wasn't over or under processed and I didn't burn.. So I continued it that way until I was able to have nice big sections with a regular clip...

Side note: Can you relax over color treated hair? I have never colored my hair, so I wouldn't know.

I haven't done a virgin myself, but I would like to add: Please Wait at least 1 to 2 weeks (preferably 2) Post relaxer before resuming your Henna Treatments.:yep:

I agree with blessedandlucky, however if thats what u want to do perhaps mix conditioner and oils into it so the chemical isn't as strong. So i guess i'm suggesting u texlax to avoid chemical burning your scalp or damaging your hair.

is that perm. color in your hair? The relaxer process is one thing, but what you have already done to your hair prior to relaxing will determine what will happen after the relaxer.

If this is the color and length of your natural I would suggest waiting until your hair is atleast 4-5 inches.

If you have perm color I would suggest waiting more than a month - and focus on moisture, porosity and last a few protein treatments.

I'VE DONE A FEW VIRGIN RELAXERS
ON YOUTUBE A PROFESSIONAL SHOWS YOU HOW TO TO IT AS WELL ...DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME...SEARCH TOPIC

DONE MYSELF AND A COUPLE OF FRIENDS & A BOYFRIEND!!! LOL (SIDEEYE) HMMMMM.... I GUESS HE'S STRAIGHT
ANYWHO I RESEARCHED THE HELLLLLLL-O OUT OF IT AT FIRST. I STARTED FROM THE ENDS.... (OF COURSE THE HAIR WAS DIVIDED IN SECTIONS).... DID 1-2 INCHES ALL THE WAY AROUND, THEN THE MIDDLE 2-3 INCHES ALL THE WAY AROUND
THEN THE ROOTS (OF COURSE ALL THE WAY AROUND)
BASE VERY WELL!!! THE PROFESSIONALS NOW MENTION STARTING WITH THE MIDDLE PORTION.... THEN THE ENDS.... AND THE ROOTS LAST!!!! BUT AS YOU RESEARCH ...INFO VARIES

NEVER EVER START WITH YOU ROOTS AS YOU WOULD A RE-TOUCH

ANYWHO..... WOW, STILL WONDERING ABOUT THAT EX:perplexed

I think she's Henna'ed?:yep:

If she used henna, she should wait 2 or 3 weeks, focus on moisture treatments and do a light protein treatment one week before (aphogee 2 min - nothing heavier)

Also make that last week a clarifying wash then aphogee. (got that tip from IDTH and Amerika)

Yep. I would be 'prepping' my hair NOW preparing for the Virgin Relaxer. I'd make sure my Moisture Levels on Point (especially w/the Henna). I'd clarify and do a protein the week prior to relaxing. I use Nexxus Emergencee.

I'd do my mid-protein step post relaxing prior to neutralizing with either Joico K-Pak, Sebastian Penetraitt, Redken Deep Fuel, Nexxus Keraphix, Tigi Dumb Blonde etc....(these are what I use) there are others.:yep:

I'd wait before applying another Henna Treatment prolly 2 weeks. I usually wait about 2 weeks post relaxer. One week post, I'll do a light protein treatment.

Y'all are bomb:grin:
I sooo wasn't expecting this many replies! The color is permanent, however my hair is black now[permanent again]. I do henna though:drunk:

My hair is longer than the pic below, so 'slapping it on' wouldn't be of much help, even though it sounds like the easiest way. I will most likely get it done professionally, but most of the people here are professionals! Y'all may not have licenses and whatnot, but you have years of experience, and beautiful hair:grin: I just haaaate paying for things I can do myself. I use to do my friends relaxers and touch ups all the time at school, but none of them were natural. Hmmmmm.

Either way though, I'll be waiting 6 months to a year to get my hair in tip top shape, and to use up all these products lol. So I have 6 months to learn all I can about relaxers!

Thanks ladies :)

I can, but I would have to become a nazi when it comes to taking care of it...idk if frequent co-washing & dc-ing would be best, or protective styles...ehhhh, nevermind. In all honesty, if I relax my hair, I will not be wearing doing any PS! Maybe later in my journey lol.
