Jherri Natural Protein Conditioner--great reviews on folica.com. Smells like soy sauce, but highly effective. Contains only four ingredients:Water, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Sodium Chloride, Apple Cider Vinegar. Inexpensive

ApHOGEE Treatment for Damaged Hair--great reviews on folica.com. Stinks all to be damned. Requires heat to be effective. Contains animal protein. Inexpensive.

Nexxus Emergencée strengthening polymeric reconstructor--great reviews on amazon.com. Contains collagen. No real odor. Expensive.

Ultra Sheen Duo Tex Protein Conditioner Professional. --good reviews on lhcf.com. No unpleasant odor. Contains collagen. Inexpensive.

Bedhead ChocolateHead--good reviews at various sites online. Personally use extensively--EXCELLENT PRODUCT. Smells like chocolated. Contains keratin. Expensive.

All of these protein conditioners I have used at least once and have had good results with. I consider these to be "hardcore" proteins--I use them once a month or biweekly(except Aphogee). Expensive--10.00 or greater; inexpensive--10.00 or less. The least expensive of these that I have used is the Duo-tex..hth.

No one has mentioned Joico K-Pak? Shame on you all! This recontructor is the best! It is packed with keratin, hardcore, but doesn't leave your hair hard.
