What does a hair "reconstructor" do differently? I'm looking for products to strenghten hair and i came across different brands of reconstructors in the beauty supply store. Is their action the same with a deep protein treatments like motions cpr and aphogee or are they milder?

Babyblue, I think a reconstructor might be milder than concentrated protein treatments like Aphogee. For example, I use Nexxus Keraphix and Aubreys GPB as my protein conditioners. Nexxus bills itself as a reconstructor. I can use Keraphix every time I wash my hair because it's not too much for my hair. On the other hand, though I don't use Aphogee, I've gathered from this board that you DEFINITELY can't use it 2x/week because it's way too concentrated. If anyone else has insight on this, or if I'm off the mark, please let me know.

Let me see if I'm getting this straight: a reconstructor is a protein conditioner?

Yes, a reconstructor is a protein conditioner.
