Please help me with my 3 year olds hair!

My 3 year old daughter has really pretty hair, 3a-b but I have a problem. No matter what I do to it, no matter what I put on it, it never stays together! It always turns into frizz. I can corn-row her hair today right, tie it up while she sleeps and in the morning its frizzy! I have used Textures and Tones Gel-didn't work. I have used Elasta QP Glaze- didn't work. I have even used BEESWAX-even that didn't work! No matter the style or what ever products I use in her hair, it always turns to frizz in a short period of time. Can anbody help me with this dilemma?

Try Jamaican Castor oil, My nephew used to use that on his 3B hair and it was soft, He even reached "bra strap!" Lol

You can try using regular conditioner as a leave in. But she's three years old...let her wear a frizzy puff while its still cute!

I agree. I wouldn't stress too much anti-frizz techniques at such a tender age. I just checked your album, and your daugther is really adorable.

Thanks! Its just that I get so frustrated because I'll take the time to do her hair, like whats in the fotki album, and the next day it looks like I havent done anything to it in 2 weeks!

I ended up getting Step 1: Hydrating Shampoo, Step 2: Coconut Dream Conditioner, Step 3: Moist Curls Moisturizer, and Step 4: Curly Q Lotion. These 4 work great on my daughter's hair to keep it moisturized with low frizz, defined curls. They are very gentle products and I especially like the way the Coconut Dream Conditioner treats her hair. Sometimes I deep cond. her hair using that under a plastic cap for about 30 minutes.

When the weather started getting colder I didn't want to have her hair air drying for hours, so I cut the Step 3 and Step 4 out. I used S-Curl activator instead. Just give it a light coat while the hair is damp and finger comb. Most of the time I brush the hair up into a ponytail (at the princess' request). That S-Curl is no joke!! Her hair loves it and it's not harsh. Curl definition and moisture that's gentle for that young head of hair. I hope they never take S-Curl off the market.

I used Smooth and Shine combined with beeswax and cocoa butter and other goodies mixed together(a recipe from the recipe board) on her hair and did the twists that I posted in my fotki. The result was great, but alas, 2 days later it was dry and frizzed up. I will definatly look into the website and products you suggested. Didn't you get tired of people looking at you like "When you gone do this childs hair?" knowing you just did it 2 hours ago!

Yep. It's been a struggle, especially while she was going to preschool and having a couple of the teachers keeping track of her hair. (Don't ask, it's another long story. ) But I do try to let her hair do what it will naturally. I don't want her growing up having complexes about her hair. My biggest concern is keeping her hair moisturized to minimize breakage. Usually if it has good moisture then the frizz stays down.

But, yeah, I wash her hair once a week and hit it with S-Curl every 2-3 days. Quick and easy.

Now if I could just figure out my hair...

Have you tried Carol's Daughter products? I'd recommend the Healthy Hair Butter. Those glaze products hold my hair down for half a second and then it turns to frizz. HHB gives hold without hardness and keeps the hair in good condition.

Girl, I have tried Healthy Hair butter and Mimosa Hair Honey but niether of them worked. They worked well for me though!

Sounds like you really are feeling my pain! I am still trying out diff. products to find that right combination that will work for me. I want to wear a shake n go sooo sooo bad but I havent come across the right product yet.... Still searching. :eye:

Girl i have the same problem with my daughter. her hair is a 3a/b thin and curly and no matter what i do her hair don't stay. SO i braid her hair and bead it up. it will last about a week or a week and a half. that's all i can do. i don't want to put too much product in her hair and damage it. so i just wash it with some kind of kiddy poo and use a natural oil likelive oil or shea butter and braid and bead. I know you want her to be neat and pretty, but she's 3 and kids don't usually stay neat no matter how hard you try.

Don't stress it.
I think her hair type might just be one of those that frizz a lot. My only remedy against frizz is to dampen the hair a little with water and olive oil before braiding at night and then taking the braids out in the morning. But sometimes you just have to learn to live with the frizz, you know? It's not a big deal.
