Well, I got a new digital camera for Christmas and I've been putting it to good use

I have some new pics on my website. I have had a lot of growth over the past 5 months. I have been cutting 1 - 2 inches of relaxed hair off as it grew. Since December, I took my braids out and have been letting my hair relax. I will put my braids back in right before I leave next month. But, I wanted you to see how much growth I've gotten in the 5 months. There's a lot of shrinkage, which is to be expected, but I think it will be nice once all the relaxed hair is off the tips. I'm too chicken to do a big chop to get it off, but, it's almost all off.

The pony in the pics I made out of synthetic hair that I put in hot water, to soften, then, I put it in somewhat small braids and let it dry. This gave it a natural fizzy look. So many people thought it was my hair because it matched the waviness of my natural hair. What do you think?

Beautiful hair pictures Cybra! You look beautiful too, like a model! And your ponytail matches your hair perfectly. It looks just like your own hair.

Thanks ladies, I appreciate your feedback. Isis, I was pretty happy with the ponytail...I wasn't sure if it would come out right, but it did. I'll be sure to keep my pics updated. Thank you both again.

Hey Cybra!!! awesome updated, we should have the same amount of new growth since you said you've been relaxer free since July (me too). Dont relax your hair again! It looks really nice in its natural state especially with that pony tail. What type of hair do you use. Is it the same hair that you use for braids? Well whatever you decide to do with your hair it will be pretty no matter what.

I can't beleive you have a daughter in college. You are so pretty. I love the braidout pictures. Do you model?

Thanks ladies for your encouragement, I appreciate your support during this transition phase of my hair growth process.

Ayeshia, I usually use synthetic hair over human hair because for me it's just cheaper. However, I do tend to run very warm to hot water over the hair because it softens the texture so much. I had a friend who told me to put it in fabric softner and it will be very soft. So, I'm going to try that before I braid my hair next week. The hair that I use for the ponytail is either the hair I had used for the braids, or if I want it longer (as in the pics) I'll buy new hair, run hot water over it, and then I'll put it in somewhat skinny single braids. I'll leave it braided while I'm going through the 2 weeks of wearing my cornrows so it's good and "set." Then, when I take my braids out and wash and condition my hair, it's usually very shiny...I'll then pull it back, slap on some gel, and then put the ponytail that I made onto it. It's hard to describe what I do to make the ponytail, so please don't ask

But thank you all again and HAPPY GROWING TO YOU TOO!

Your natural hair looks great.

And I agree with Lilchanel: your phony pony matches your natural texture well.

It was the first thought that came to mind when I saw your pony: "Hmm...how does she do that?"

Guess I have no other choice but to show up at your door uninvited to see for myself then.

Awwww, thanks ladies (sniff) One thing I was thinking about when I posted the most recent pics, maybe I should take the older ones off because I have gained about 10 - 15lbs and it shows in my face...thank God you can't see my butt

I guess it can serve as motivation for sticking to my new diet...hmmm. Thank you all again.
