As part of the Weave it Up Challenge, I got a sew-in (Halley's Curls Miami Relaxed) on May 26th, and just took it out Sunday (August 15th)! I think I got some pretty good growth and retention :grin:


But first....a teaser (lol) : 7 months post, obsessed with my coily new growth!

Coming along ever so gradually. I'm aware my ends are disgusting :giggle:. I made a promise to myself that I would trim them after my third install (end of the year). Hopefully at that time I'll be trimming back to BSL :pray:

Your hair is grow, grow, growing!!!!!! I'm so happy for you...Are you in the MBL Challenge because if you're not, you should be!

Thanks ma'am! I'm in the 2010 BSL Challenge, hoping to make FULL BSL by December.....I'm definitely joining the MBL Challenge for next year!

i haven't decided yet :look: I'm giving myself a full relaxer-free year. In January, I'll decide if I want to keep going or relax. I may do a BKT.

Thanks! I think I want to do a straight weave next, since we're going into fall (less humidity) :)

-Wash/condition 1x a week (washed with Suave green apple - for the scent :look:)

-Conditioners: any moisturizing condish I could get my hands on (Skala shea butter, Skala ceramides, humectress, etc)

-I also co-washed the weave a couple times a week. This particular texture (Miami Ripple/Relaxed) LOVES moisture and sprang back to life every time I re-wet it

-Moisturized 1-2 times a week with Skala Avocado leave-in, diluted with water. This is awesome! Sometimes I mixed a little CareFree gold or coconut oil in with it, but for the most part this was my sole moisturizer. I put it in a pointed-tip applicator bottle to squirt it down between the tracks. I also used a bit on the weave itself whenever it was damp, and it dried sooo soft :)

-i kept my leave-out hair in flat twists at night to blend with the weave :yep:

dangit!!! Can't see the pic. Darn work computer. I'll have to peek back in when I get home, but I know if JJ was inspiration...it must look amazing! :yep:

:lol: i know right! The morning of my install I meant to take some pics after I washed/DC'ed. But I overslept and didnt even get to DC :ohwell:......I hopped out the bed all late for my appt like "f*** it" :lol:
