Pics of my mom's hair/ new and updated

I figured since I can not show my hair I would post on my mom's journey to healthy hair. My mom's hair is very close to my hair but it is very thin and she is having a lot of breakage. Thining runs in our family but since I have thicken my hair with care and henna I want to see what I can do to help her. I will try to post new pic on her hair every month. I am trying to keep her length as I help her health.

MashaAllah! Keep us posted with her journey. Maybe she should create her own account here! As long as she's healthy, her hair will grow.

many older women experience thinning hair as they age. Not sure of anyone with hair that thin that thickened to dramatically but I'll wait for others to chime in. My mother has hair very similar to your mom's and we tried lots of products and methods to no avail.

hannan Alhamdulilah I will keep you posted. she is not going to post on here this is why I decided to do it for her because I kept being ask to show my hair and I can't I said hey mom since I am doing this for you anyway let me post it online.

Roux, Since she is so far long on the thiness I may be too late but I would like to see it healthier because it was really coming out when I washed it. and she is on a lot of meds.

I forgot to take pictures of her hair before I got started today. I applied her henna and placed her under the heating cap. It was all white when I started on her hair and she is 100% natural. and it looks to me that she is a little past apl. we have agreed that until she gets the color she is looking for we will henna every 2 weeks for now. Once she figures out what will work out for her I will post her regiment.

Your mom has lovely hair. It is very thin but have you tried castor oil on her hair? It has great thickening properties. Good luck lovie. You are such a good daughter. :)

That is nice that you are trying to help your mom. My mom's hair is thin on top too. Doing scalp massages with ayurvedic oils or tea help a little.

And as another post said changing your diet will help too.

I have to ask my mom about the meds because they are a lot. Here are pic of her hair dry.

you are so sweet to help your mom. I've gotten my mom on a healthy hair journey too. Got her using all kinds of products (and I have to order all the stuff online for her :lachen:)

And yes, meds and procedures can definitely have an effect. I know that anesthesia affected my sis-in-law's hairline when she had surgery. It is coming back after about a year.

Good luck and keep us posted!

You're a good daughter for helping your mother. I look forward to the updates. Her hair looks a lot thicker when dry and she has a pretty hair texture.

Awww! That is so sweet ...I do the same thing with my Mom & Aunts....

*Keep us posted with her progress....

Happy Hair Growing!

Yeah I have to buy all the products too lol. I sent her home with a bag yesterday and gave her instructions lol and still forgot what I told her.

our scalp can not stand for us to use oils on our head but hers is worst than mines. she likes baggin every night but her scalp feels like it's on fire so she will have to wash more. this is why I co wash so much. baby steps for her with that one. she seen my products and said I don't buy anything for my hair. I just shuck my head.

I said I would give up dates and these are some pictures that she took on her own so I don't have a length check or anything like that but she wanted to show her color and how thick she thinks it's gotten. she finally has her routine down so it is look much better. so tell us what you think first pictures are on the first page.

Try adding bhringraj powder to her henna treatments. It is also supposed to help thicken/grow hair.

The new pics are after she started using the bhringrah powder, it brighten up the henna that was already in her hair but she seems to think she has less breakage.

thanks I just ordered some so I can try it in her next henna treatment next week. question does this make the henna darker?

How I maintained my henna- (what ever powder) I incorporated after/I would add Hibiscus to the mix....

*I no longer henna..But,still use the paste from time to time & I still add (Hibiscus to the mix)

Brahmi also helps to thicken (little gritty) but,if you add little con & hibiscus to it/makes application & rinse nice & smooth...HAIR IS FULLER/With nice highlights...

*Mahabhringraj oil is great at keeping shedding at bay too...

Her hair looks nice although it's always hard to judge or compare when not looking at the same view before and after; it's hard to tell what section of her head we're looking at in the latest pics to be able to give an honest answer to the question in your last line.

I wanted to bring your attention to a site that offers a lot of info about hair loss and how to curb it: www.add-hair.com

Thanks and that is what the problem was she had thinned out and was loosing hair like crazy. I mixed it for her and she had been applying it to her hair on her own which is why I don't have a length check pic at the moment. she is becoming a pro at taking care of her hair now. she is on a lot of meds and we don't know which ones that was causing the problem. when we first did her henna it gave her a really nice blonde color and she was loving it until we started with the other powder which gave her the orange color. but she is loving this new look.
I really wanted to thank you all for your help. I think she is very excited about being on here and having you all take a look at her hair.

Thanks so much Nonie. She took these last pics with her phone and I need her to come over so I can take the updated pics that I want for my record and then I will post them the before I apply her henna and after. I will check out the site also..

Amla on top of preventing the loosening of curls helps darken the stain I found. Black tea does that too so If you want the color to become darker then that may be the way to go.
