I promised some of the ladies a review on the Extra Long & Wide Curlformers (pink and orange). A promise is a promise, so here we go! :drunk:

The first time, I used the Long & Narrow ones (blue and green). My original post: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=205335&page=2

First off, when I placed the hook inside these, I noticed they were muuuuuch longer when stretched out (about 1 1/2 ft). Perfect for BSL and MBL. Half of my Curlformer was empty, unlike the blue & green ones, where some of my ends were hanging out (had to slide them down).

This time, I used a mixture of ORS Wrap/Set Foam, water, and castor oil in a spray bottle to set. I really didn't like the foam, made my hair kinda rough. I'll stick to Lacio for future sets. Again, Monday will make me 14 wks post and I'm about BSL.

Amazingly, I dried in 30 min. I bought the pink Ion dryer from Sally's (had a $5 coupon & Pibbs ain't in the budget right now :nono:). You guys weren't kidding, that sucka gets hot! It worked great. The hair dries quicker b/c unlike rollers, the hair isn't wrapped over itself.

It was funny b/c my father was intrigued at how these things worked, so I had to give him a demonstration.

DAD: It gets the roots and all?

ME: LMAO, what u know bout the roots?? (mind you, he has like Type 1 hair, with no worries in the world!!) :wallbash:

DAD: I know how ya'll are wit ya roots!

Once again, I'm officially in love with these things. Let me know what ya think.

Enjoy! :drunk:

Notice that I still had half the Curlformer left (perfect for longer hair).

you're just determined for me not to like you with your long hair wearing self...LMBO!!!!!

It's beautiful. Looks shiny, bouncy and soft. Did you use anytype of setting lotion or spray?

ARR

Absolutely beautiful! You've pretty much sealed the deal for me. I will be picking some up this weekend.

BEautiful!!!

Ur are so pretty and your hair is beautiful!!! I wonder how they would do on short hair.

Oh my gawd! Your hair looks lovely. I just have this thing about spiral curls. I am so trying to fight the feeling to run up to a Sally's. I have two both with in 30 minutes of a drive. Goodness I don't think i can hold out much longer seeing all these ladies with such nice curls.

Your hair turned out so nice, and the style looks so cute on you. Your dad's response about the "roots" are too funny.

Very nice:clap::clap: I bought the longer ones last night, but didnt get to use them because I didnt have time.

I cant wait to try them now! You should be on their website as a model, yours came out perfect.

Wow, just wow!!! You and your hair are very pretty. Note to self: Get some Curlformers

Do you just wear a satin bonnet at night to preserve the style?

PREEETTTTTTTYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bdance:

Your hair is absolutely FABULOUS!! :yep:  I am so sold!

actually, I was sold yesterday---which is why I stopped by Sally's on my way home from work!

okay..I bought some of the pink and orange ones yesterday!!....only two packs tho.

It was $19.98 before tax--( i have a Sally's card).....kinda 'spensive....

I also bought some Elasta QP mango butter--and some ORS olive oil lotion.... lost my mind a bit.

but I digress...:look:

I may have to swing by and get some more---and also a pack or two of the narrow blue and green ones!

oh yeah--I didn't know that I had to buy the hook separately---which was $3.89 (with 5% off Sally's card)....

If I like these---I just may buy the entire set (hook included)--but I'll have to wait on that, because it's like 50 something bucks.

------

anyway--queen_t your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!! and thanks for the review!!

I'm going to try this on my hair tonight---or this weekend--and see what happens!! I hope my hair looks half as good as yours!
If not---imma be selling 'em in the hair exchange forum!

I'm about to do a backflip, your hair looks so pretty! I wonder if these curlformers would work on SL hair? You remind me of a young Phylicia Rashad in the last pic!

Oh SNAP! I'm about to own $100.00 worth of rollers! :lachen:

Did you notice any difference in the diameter of curls made by the pink and orange vs the blue and green? I noticed you used both in the same set, but I couldn't see if any were wider than the others.

I already have the blue & green, but I noticed that up top where my hair is longest it was a struggle at times.

TIA

P.S: the set is GORGEOUS btw!

Wow....I almost gasped out loud when I saw your pictures....absolutely stunning!!

Im glad I saw that tutorial so I am inspired to try them on my natural hair.

Thanks ladies!!

BEautiful!!!

Ur are so pretty and your hair is beautiful!!! I wonder how they would do on short hair.

Kat, thanks & I think they'd look fly on short hair!
Very nice:clap::clap: I bought the longer ones last night, but didnt get to use them because I didnt have time.

Thanks SweetAKA, shooo..I wish they WOULD pay a broke grad student!!!

Wow, just wow!!! You and your hair are very pretty. Note to self: Get some Curlformers

Do you just wear a satin bonnet at night to preserve the style?

Nope, I don't wear anything over it at night.

Did you notice any difference in the diameter of curls made by the pink and orange vs the blue and green?

Soliel, the curls are definitely bigger, giving me more of a wavy look. If I used the Lacio instead, it would have been more noticeable (lighter and bouncier).

Wow ....that is so pretty !!!! Was it hard to put them in.....

Thanks Traycee, not hard at all.....just gotta get the technique down. Let's just say, for me, it's easier than roller setting. :yep:

There you are again in all your glory. Girl, you are going to be the next Jared, but instead of Subway, you will be the new face for Curlformers.:yep: Seriously, they owe you some royalties or something. I bet they are wondering why their sales just skyrocketed. :perplexed I purchased the long and narrow blue and green, the short and wide blue and green. I also purchased the kit because when I reach BSL they may not be around. Do you twist at the root before you add the curlformer?

Thanks again,
C

I need to buy stock in this product.:yep: You just keep posting pics! BEAUTIFUL! I gotta get some of these in my life but Ill wait until I get my Pibbs first (should be in the mail somewhere...):wallbash:

Gorgeous!

That's so cute about your dad.

I'll have to try this on my daughters. I know they'll love it.
