Tenjoy, what happens after the poll closes? The numbers are pretty close in terms of the 512 vs the 514 and the different dates for ordering. Will there be a single choice( e.g., the 512 now), or multiple options ( e.g. the 512 or the 514 either now or Jan 15)? I'm curious because I definitely want to participate but know that I won't be ready until after the Holidays. I think a single option may make the numbers of actual purchasers lower than expected.
I would like to get the 514, but if it is the same size as 512 I would take that to. Dec 15 is find with me. My main concern is, as my hair get longer (1 inch & half past BSL) would there be room under the 514 or 512 for my hair?
After reading that the 514's air flow is stronger than the 512,I'm wondering if I should just go for the 512.I need something thats stronger than this gold n hot and if I'm going to make a big purchase I want to make sure I get the best one..Any one have any imput about this?
ETA:this is my current dryer http://cgi.ebay.com/Gold-N-Hot-Hard...air-Dryer_W0QQitemZ280167724868QQcmdZViewItemwith 1400 watts and the 512 descriptions says it has 1000 watts and the 514 has 1070.Does the wattage matter?
Hi,
I would like to buy one. The one with the largest hood. I can buy it now.
thanks.
thanks for the explanation I was a little confused on wattageThe pibbs is different in the way it moves air. That is why it drys faster and it cover your head. The manufacturer also recommends wearing a hair net because it can "pick hair up" towards the fan. But "ethnic" hair dont really have to worry too much about that.
the hoods are the same size
Thanks. I have a Hot Tools stand alone dryer now. The problem is i can't fit a head full of gray or larger rollers. Do you think the Pibbs would let me do that?
If the difference between the 512 and 514 is just the temp control knob then I want the cheaper one. Are there any other differences?

Not enough of a difference to pay $100 more in my opinion, and yes it will fit your grey rollers easily.
514 may have a tiny bit more flow/heat, but not enugh to make a difference, and the 512 get HOOOOOT, so you wont use the maxium setting anyway.
