I brought a lace front wig that is Peruvian hair, it us genuine and good quality however I find it is becoming tangled at the back.

I have been using heat on it twice a week but I also use heat protectant, I have trimmed it but I am still getting tangles.

What can I do, I want to keep until summer when I reach bsl.

you know what i would do?

i'd go over to BHM lacefront and ask them :giggle:

LHCF is the best when it comes to taking care of hair that grows from your head, but BHM invented extension hair so the archive and current advice from vets is unmatched anywhere.

...altho, i can say that it sounds like your hair is likely not virgin Peruvian hair so it has been processed in some form to achieve its current texture. processed hair is more delicate than virgin hair. also, 'genuine' and 'good quality' are dubious terms in the extension game unless you've gone out and scalped someone yourself :look:

I also doubt it's peruvian. Just about all of the hair used is chinese or indian. Or both processed to look like a certain texture. Anyway...have you been using any products on the hair other than the heat protectant? I would in the very least try deep conditioning. I like silicon mix for my wig. After that perhaps an ACV rinse.

I have some chinese hair that was tangling like crazy on the ends and in the back. Deep conditioning didn't stop it. An ACV rinse didn't stop it. I had to pull out the big guns: A bleach bath. The steps are on BHM and also there's a good tutorial on youtube. If all else fails I would give it a shot.

Whats a bleach bath?

ETA: i went to bhm and searched bleach bath. i found 7 post mentioning doing a bleach bath but no one explaining the process. can i get an explanantion? i don't have a bhm login.

thanks

The tangling is caused by the constant heat usage. Human lace wigs is like your own hair and after a while, the hair will become damaged. As for a bleached bath check out 510queen on yt, she has a vid on how to do a bleach bath.

Also look at the lacefronts for newbies section and weaves for newbies. They have useful 101 links there.
