Yes, please do tell. I was admiring this picture yesterday...absolutely beautiful!

Sorry for the delay... got caught up with other things...

Anywho...

I'm wearing a loose twist out in the siggy pic...

Here's what I did:

1) Regular poo routine...

- poo with Soft & Beautiful Botanicals
- conditioned with Elucence MB Condish
- rinsed about 80% of condish out (cuz I also use Elucence as my leave in)
- added my homemade butter mix (melted shea/cocoa/mango butter & mixed together)

2) Made 5 big ole twists on wet hair

- with all of hair going to the back, grabbed a section of hair & did a 2 strand twists
- gathered all 5 twists into 1 big ponytail (this kept my hair stretched while drying)

3) Covered with satin scarf (kept waves bigger/hair stretched); covered that with a satin bonnet & went to bed, lol

4) Next day, hair was dry.... unraveled twists from top (inner part of twist) & pulled downward (which will separate the 2 strands)

5) Separate more & fluff!!

So Peachtree: It is beautiful...I am curious, do you do a complete comb out first or do you just finger comb and twist, wash your hair in the twists as some do or how do you prevent tangling and knotting? Your hair looks super thick and healthy too. Bonjour

Simply awesome.

How long does this style last? Do you do anything special with your hair at night and the following morning? Thanks in advance.

1) I only comb my hair when soaked with conditioner. After I poo (or cw), I'll add my conditioner (Elucence). Let conditioner sit til I bathe (about 10 mins). Then comb through... & comb again... then comb again. I hate knots.... so I'm comb, & comb until the comb literally slides right down my hair. (I think I've become a lil obsessed about keeping my hair free from knots with all of the comb throughs I do). I used to use cheapie conditioners (which works well), but I changed to Elucence cuz Elucence enables me to comb through multi times without breaking any hairs.

2) I still finger comb from time to time... like when styling. No, I don't poo in the twists. I poo, condition, detangle, oil, then style (in that order). When I feel up to it, I'll do a *pre-poo* with Lustrasilk Aloe... but that's maybe 1x mth.

3) I prevent tangling & knotting by being obsessive about combing through THOROUGHLY while loaded with conditioner. Again, I had to change from my beloved cheapies to Elucence... Elucence is heavy, very moisturizing, with great slip... this is how I'm able to comb through so many times to *prevent* tangling & knotting. My hair stays pretty tangle/knot free until the next poo. The ends still curl around themselves, but it's not tangled... I can easily slip the ends apart. I *NEVER* comb dry hair... that would be disasterous, lol

Thanks for the compliments ;)

I could prolly get it to last at least 3-5 days by lightly misting with water, then retwisting nightly... but (as with other styles), I'm sure it'll shrink more as the days pass... Also, to keep the halo flat, I'll tie the hair down with a satin scarf, then cover that with a satin bonnet. This keeps then root hairs/top hairs flat (enlongated). In the a.m., I'll water mist again, fluff, then go about my day... (the same thing I do for my far shorter/highly shrinkaged shake & go's)

I only wore that style (I think) 1 day before I put it up in a puff, lol
