Woman! Your buns are FAB!

But more impressively are those results you got 11 weeks post relaxer with a steamer! I love them too but no longer live close enough to the salon where I used to get them.

Do you have one at home? Can you post where you got it and what you regime was when you went that 11 weeks and used the steamer (like did you tie those edges or what chica???? Dang!) and took the pic you have in your album?

My edges are rather unruly lately (I think it's from upping my Biotin to 10mgs) and I want mine to look like yours...

And such lovely buns...inspiring!

Lady, check out theJC Penny's Salon visit #3 thread and let me know if you still have any unanswered questions.

So you have tried the steamers before, what were your results?

I still don't believe my results and I want to make sure that nothing like build up is causing the results. I'm going to do it again after I clarify 1st at home and see if I get the same results. That way I will feel confident when I try and sell my DH on the idea.

It all makes sense Spagirl..

Lesson - that's what happens when you READ!

I used to go to a salon that rotuinely used a steamer on all of their clients with every single wash.

They also used a "mystery" mixed up conditioner - I suspect NACIDIT Olive Oil was the base.

I have never since had silkier, softer, shinier, more satiny feeling haor than I did than. Seeing your results reminded me of that. I can probably mix a conditioner of my own that rivals theirs

(I know all the little tricks and secrets

) but I thought you had BOUGHT a steamer. I really want to buy one of my own but I have yet to find the thread that gave actual locations

I remember someone (besides Lucia who I'll be PMing soon) bought one but I can never remember who....I thought perhaps it was you.

I do have one question tho....

You go to Penny's but you DON'T let them style you? So you sit under the dryer with it combed back and then you bun it bun did you tie a scarf before you took this shot?

During visit #3 I put it in the bun while I was sitting in the stylist chair, but that was after the stylist combed most of the waves out, then I went shopping for a while but as soon as I got home I took the pictures. No scarf.

One thing she did that might have made it lay down like that, is that she used the comb side of a rattail comb to smooth my hair back (left loose) before I went under the dryer. This was 1 step I didn't care for. She wasn't as gentle as I would have been. I would have liken the end results, before she combed, to a shake and go style.

I've been researching the net today on hair steamers and I find there are different kinds:
<ul type="square">
1. Unregulated Steamer possible picture of type described
2.Steamer that have either a thermastats or an amount of steam regulator possible picture of that's described
3. Steamers w/thermostats and amount of steam regulator per a knob actual picture
4. Computer steamers w/ozone vaporizers actual picture this looks exactly like the one at Penny's [/list]

Now with that all said, I have another question. Which steamer did you have your experience with, that is if you see one above. Did you feel like you were in a sauna or a steam room? Meaning too much steam. Did you get over heated because of the steam? Last question, did it cycle on and off or was it continual steam from start to finish?

I can't see links 3 and 4 (it says the page can't be dislayed) but 1 and 2 are the same as far as I can see and they both look like the ones I've used....

I didn't even know there were differences!

I know the steamer I used at the salon was not too hot, there was a constant flow of steam, but it was a VERY fine mist - I didn't feel "cloaked" in steam is what I'm saying.

Your edges are still flooring me. No scarf. No gel. Just steamer and bun and go.....

Wow! You better GO 'HEAD GURL!!!

I never felt like I was in a room of any kind. In fact - sitting under the dryer with my conditioner is MUCH less pleasant.

It was made by WELLA.

Thanks Chickie, maybe the type of steamer had something to do w/it.

I fixed Steamer links # 3&amp;4.

# 4 says something about dramatically speeds up the oxidation process. I hope the thing hasn't aged me!
