Paging Hada or other Amla Powder users

I am in the process of making my own braid spray, and hair butter.

Anyway, I was thinking about adding the Amla Powder to the braid spray. The spray will have water and glycerin. Do you guys know how well the Amla powder dissolves into water?

Also any other tips on the best way to use this powder? Again, I want to incorporate it into a daily hairdressing (maybe putting it in the butter would be better?) and wanted to get ideas on if you all have used it in a hairdressing before.

Please advise /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just used the Amla powder for the first time this weekend. I mixed it with distilled water that I had boiled and infused with dried Rosemary and Sage. I also added a teaspoon or so of Jojoba Oil. The Amla has a UNIQUE smell and it is very mud-like. It also is brown in color. I would be careful adding it to something you intend to LEAVE IN your hair. Someone else, I think, HoneyRockette?, tried doing that (I think) and did not have great results.

Good to know. How did you use it in your hair? Was this like a hot oil treatment?

Sorry if I read to fast, and you already answered that. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would use it as a scalp cleanser.

Try mixing Amla with aritha (soapnut powder), shikakai. Boil it all together. I do this even once in a while. So instead of shampooing do this. You would strain away the wet powder and use the liquid. This is good and I would use it this way. Leaves the scalp refreshed and clean. Good environment for hair growth. I will be doing thi smore often since I cut my hair off last Thursday.

The Amla mixed with water and Jojoba oil was not oily. It looked like mud. I put it on and put on a plastic cap and left it on for a while. I did not use heat as someone had previously posted that they did not have good results using heat on the Amla.

Thanks you guys! I ordered some from that naturewithlove site, so I'm excited about testing it out /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bump, I have the powder and I'm ready to try this so I wanted to keep this here in case I have more questions. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
