IMHO i think that ors lye is better than the no lye. I just used it on december 30th (i cheated on one of my stretches to try this one) and My hair constantly feels moisturized and I have never felt this when I used motions, affirm, optimum no lye, creme of nature no lye, and even ors no lye (which is the best of the ones i just named). I was scared as hell when i applied it, but it worked out so well. This is my last switch and im sticking to it. Just thought i'd share. Only negative that I found that it was a lil more harsh on the scalp since it is a lye relaxer. But other than that i loved it.

Glad it worked for you, I have been using ORS no lye for 4 years now and before that I was using Gentle-Treatment no-lye. I love ORS no lye and don't have issues with dry hair. I think I'm going to stick with no-lye's:) JMO and whoever posted the gigibeauty.com links. Thanks, now I can try the ORS replenishing conditioner in the bottle:-)

my next relaxer will be ORS no-lye. No-lye works for me because I don't want my hair too straight and it makes my hair feel thicker than when I used to use lye. this is JMO as well:)

I will admit I'm VERY curious and went to the gigibeauty.com website and looked at the product but I'm having excellent results with no-lye and plus I have a sensitive scalp so that won't work for me BUT I did find the big bottle of ORS replenishing Conditioner on that site and the neutralizing shampoo so now I can try the replenishing pack in the bottle because I love that stuff:)

Yea they have the huge professional sized Replenishing Conditioner for 12.99. I didnt see it when I got my last perm, but now I see it in my local salon and a few others as well. Yea that stuff is great. They slowly but surely are circulating the ORS Lye line. Along with the Replenishing Conditioner and the Neutralizing Shampoo.

I know those little ORS conditioner packets would be better if they sold the bottles in the local BSS. but since u found them on that gigi site...I may definitely have to check that out..instead of tearing into those little paper packs:p

Thank u... Im luving your progress pics, especially the thickness :D beautiful little girl too! But I wonder if its the Aloe Neutralizing Shampoo that comes in the No Lye Relaxer box. Do u think? I think the conditioner is great a great price (12.99) as well because its professional size. Its huge! and those little packets are 1.50 each. I say its worth the money.

Thanks for sharing. I am happy that it worked well for you. I, like some of the other ladies cannot use Lye due to sensitive scalp and bad burning but the no lye works great also. This is great for the ladies who want to switch to lye but stay with the same brand.

I really want to try the ORS lye relaxer. The no-lye has great ingriedients but I currently use lye, so I'd be more apt to try the new version.

I just picked this up today and will use it this weekend. I was shocked to see it. I went in to get the ORS no-lye, but I prefer lye so I got this. Hope I get good results!

OK...I JUST PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT, AND MY NEICE IS ON HER WAY TO PUT IT IN. I HAVE BEEN USING MIZANI FOR OVER 10 YRS, WITH NO PROBLEMS, BUT I'M THINKING IT MAKES MY ALREADY FINE HAIR TOO STRAIGHT. PLUS, I CAN'T SEEM TO GET AN APPT. AT THE SALONS, AND FRANKLY I JUST WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY $75 BUCK'S IN MY POCKET FOR ONCE. I HAVE HEARD SO MANY POSITIVE THING'S ABOUT THIS ORS OLIVE OIL RELAXER, BUT I WAS VERY NERVOUS ABOUT USING A NO-LYE PRODUCT.
I HAD NOT SEEN THE LYE VERSION UNTIL READING THIS POST. SO, I SAID WHY NOT GIVE IT A WHIRL, I'LL BE BACK TONIGHT WITH MY RESULTS.
THIS POST WAS RIGHT ON TIME:)

I would like to try this seeing as how Vitale underprocessed me, but do you know if I could use the vitale neutralizing shampoo, or should I just by the whole neutralizer and conditioner sys of ors...i always thought neutralizer was just neutralizer. Also, did you find that relaxing was easy? Was there excessive smoothing?

I saw the ORS Lye Relaxer in a bss in Brooklyn last Friday. I wanted to get it, but they only had normal and extra strength. :(

Does anyone know if ORS makes a mild lye relaxer?

victorious the answer to that question is no. they dont make a mild version and I am so mad about it because i usually ONLY use mild. I thought about putting olive oil init to slow down the process, but Im scared about that to, because I've never done it before. However the container for regular says that its for fine to medium hair, so I/we might be okay. I will try it if you do ;)

Trust me when I say the "normal" is pretty pretty mild.... you don't have to worry about overprocessed hair at all. I took it to my hairdresser and used it. My hair was straight for all of one week :look: . I could even see how one would texturize with this...

I remember a few posts about that, but I never added oil either. My next touchup is late April, so I have time for some forum research.

I read the container too, but I stuck with the Motions Mild because I wasn't too sure. I'm still thinking about it. :scratchch

Ok...ok...I'm leaning closer to the green jar. I might put a little amount of evoo as a precaution, but I'll do a search first.

Thanks ladies!

I used to use motions mild for years but I think my hair needs something new, I am planning on relaxing in the next three weeks i will certainly post my results! Now that Brit has confirmed how mild it is I am pretty sure I will give it a try, I burn easy and since I am going to do it myself I think I will add a lil evoo to it as well!

Ok I am certain I am going to do it now. After reading those threads i feel a lot more confident. I think I am going to do about 2 TBSP of Evoo and the sweet almond oil sounds good too but I have no idea where to buy it ! thanks so much for sharing victorious!

Do any of you who are using the ORS lye relaxer have fine hair? I use the ORS No lye - Normal and have fine/soft hair. I've used lye relaxers in the past, but I always burned easily (but haven't used lye in almost 5 years). So, I made the decision to stick to no lye for that reason. I am very interested in seeing how the Lye works for fine haired ladies.

I finally tried it last night, and I like it.
(I was going to relax at 10 weeks post, but I have two events to attend this weekend. I relaxed at 8.5 weeks post instead.)

I chickened out last minute about adding the evoo, so I decided that I won't leave it in longer than the 15 minutes recommended. I nearly freaked when I went over 5 minutes, but my hair didn't feel overprocessed at all while rinsing the relaxer. (Britt, you were right!)

I also used their neutralizing shampoo...HATED IT! It contains Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Lareth Sulfate, and I think that's why my hair felt tangly and dry. I didn't think it would have been so harsh since it was ORS. :ohwell: (I'm sticking with the Motions Neutralizing Shampoo.)

But their Replenishing Conditioner   made those tangles melt away. I thought nothing could beat Motions Moisture Plus, but this is a serious contender.

My find strands weren't limp and flat like when I used other normal/regular relaxers. My hair isn't bone straight, and I love it. It's a keeper.

ETA: I didn't henna after relaxing because I wanted to see how well each product worked.

I used this relaxer for the 1st time 2 weeks ago and it is a keeper! I have never had a home relaxer in my life. My hairstylist has been using Dudleys Lye Relaxer in my hair for awhile. But last time it was so under processed at the roots and she insists that she relax the entire length of my hair. Enough of that foolishness!

So, my friend came over and applied the relaxer and I was washing out in 15 min as recommended. I used their neutralizing shampoo. Instantly my hair felt like silk as I was washing the relaxer out. I used Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment for the conditioner.

I rollerset and when it was done, my hair was very shiny and straight. At the center of my head the roots are slightly underprocessed, but being the first time, I am very very happy with the outcome.

Next time I will start and concentrate at the center of my head and work out. and maybe keep it in a little longer.

(I did not base my scalp, my hairstylist never does, so I didn't, and I didn't burn at all. I did base around the edges with vaseline though)

Highly recommended for those whose hair likes lye relaxers.
