You guys have me feeling all warm & fuzzy right now . As far as what I do... basically what you all have been telling me to do. I stopped using heat (except for the occassional Dominican blowout), started stretching my relaxers (every 4 months), and basically did as little as I possibly could with my hair (which was not difficult for me, being a student ).
Although, I must admit that my original inspiration and template came from Eclipse. Her album was one of the first that I saw when I joined the boards and I was in awe. I also stole her original regimen, which I have modified over time, but kept the same simplicity. I hope she doesn't mind me posting these links... haven't seen her around in quite some time... although I wish she would come back and update her pics! I still have her threads in my favorites (1 & 2) .
Her regimen: shampoo w/CoN 2-3/week deep condition w/lekair cholesterol 1/week oil hair w/jojoba oil after every wash (while still wet to seal-in the moisture) Aphogee Protein when needed
Thanks again, everyone! I am starting to believe that I am on my way . And thank goodness that I have finally figured out that less is more (K.I.S.S). Here's what I am currently doing:
Clean:
- CW with Suave Milk & Honey every other day.
- ACV rinse followed by Aubrey's GPB at the end of each week.
- Deep condition with oils or cholesterol when time permits.
- Shampoo with Nutrine Garlic Shampoo or Suave Milk & Honey when necessary (usually after long workouts). Leave-in:
- A shea butter/aloe vera combo after a CW or shampoo.
- Either Herbal Essences Replenishing Conditioner/water combo or Suave Milk & Honey/water combo for daily moisture.
- Surge on the scalp every other day or as a detangler when needed. Style:
- I don't do much styling... usually it's just a bun or a french braid. I use Milk & Honey conditioner, Herbal Essences Replenishing conditioner, or Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk to deal with frizzies and flyaways.
- Get a Dominican blowout every now and then, although i am going to try to go once a month. The Other Stuff:
- I take a multi-vitamin every day. And take biotin and MSM when I remember .
- Daily exercise, enough sleep, plenty of water, and I am trying to eat better:] That's pretty much it.
WOW skydancer! you have done such great progress! it's amazing! power to you girl... in another year imagine where your hair will be... brastrap to midback probably
It is so weird to be getting all of these compliments from all you with heads of hair that I drool over . Thanks so much for the love and encouragement! HHG to all of you beautiful ladies too! :]
