So far, I have seen non-black children with 'streaks' in their hair (mainly hispanic or japanese). I haven't seen any AA children with highlightsyet.
Have you all noticed this??

I've noticed children with highlights (even AA children). I know an AA girl (age 17) that has wonderful looking highlights (makes me want some).

17...well that's okay, but what about children <7????

Girl, when you said children, I consider anyone under 18 to be a child. Thanks for indicating children under 7.

I've seen it! Last week I saw an asian family with blonde hair and higlights! It was cute, but for mom dad, and the baby (6-7)?

I saw it last week!!!!! And it was an AA child and she was also relaxed on top of it! i couldn't believe it. I couldn't stop staring b/c it was so strange to me. She was playing double-dutch and looked about 9 years old and they were red streaks too!

My daughter is 13 (and yes, I do consider her a child) and she has highlights. Not many, but they are noticable. She is also relaxed and her hair is in great health.....all because of all the great information that I have received from LHCF! :) .

I thought I was the only one who thought this (highlights in young kids' hair) was odd. It looks too grown up, IMO. I don't have any children myself, but I think that if I did...that would have to wait until they could pay for it themselves!

ive seen tons of aa children with highlighted hair....mainly with a big bush and hennaed light brown/blonde highlights. the lil bit from my wife and kids has them too.

Oh yes. :nono: I've seen this in children as young as 7 no older then 10. I've yet to see this on AA. I have seen AA children with multi-color braids. I also have seen highlights on Hispanic, Asian, and Pilipino children. :nono:

It is too grown up in my opinion. Nothing to look forward too when they gt older. :ohwell:

I had a vietnamese student and his mother kept his hair dyed a reddish color and he wasn't even three yet! she also painted his toenails. i'm convinced she wanted him to be a girl.

As I stated, my 13 year old AA child has highlights...nothing chunky, but you can tell. We made an agreement that if she got them that she/I would have to take care of her hair....and she has! She used to flat iron her hair quite often....now she is doing the no heat challenge. At an early age she is learning how to take care of her hair the correct way.

there was an aa girl during the summer, about 11 or 12 with highlights and she OBVIOUSLY did not take care of her hair, all the edges were broken off, about 2" long all around her head... i thought it was very sad :ohwell:

I just seen a 2 year old with highlights at the nail shop. It was the Asian tech's kid, someone asked about it and she was like her father did it. She actually looked cute with them but then again she was a cute little girl without them anyway.
