What do you ladies, who bun and wear ponytails, secure it with! I have tried everything, Ouchless bands, Childrens Ballies and cut Pantyhose. No matter what I use, it somehow snatches my hair out! I am so ticked rite now! I just pulled some hair out while trying to bun it for the day! I'm just so fed up, I'm trying to do the right thing and wear PS's as opposed to wearing it down, but I'm beginning to believe that may be a safer route! Any suggestions Ladies, Please!

For ponytails, I still use ouchless bands but I don't wear ponytails that often so it's not a big deal for me.

As for buns, I use Goody spin pins, Flexi-8 clips, claw clips and just recently I've been using hair sticks.

those hairs that are being 'pulled out' are probably shed hairs that have fallen out (or were ready to fall out) anyway. I wouldn't stress out about that. I use ouchless bands and they work fine.

^^^^What Love said, have a look at the hair in the band and check with it is??

I use the ouchless and goodie hair ties (w/ no metal). Sometimes I even use rubber bands *looks* (but I have a certain why I put them on and take the out w/out snagging/breaking).

Oh yea I only get shed hair tangled in the hair ties no breakage.

Thanks Yall! Phew , I was stressin'! Good Ideas, All :yep:!

BoingBoing, Do tell !!!!, Whats that method you speak of:look:?

Do any of you Ladies who use, bands, have any issues with bringing your hair thru it, like the actual, pull-thru? I would think that the longer your hair gets, that would become an issue?!

I've had too many close calls with those ouchless bands, so I always soak them in oil before I put them on my hair.

Thank You DarlingDiva, That is a Great idea, were do you Ladies come up with this stuff! Lol! :yep:

I will use either the Goody Comfort-Flex Updo Barrette or the Scunci No Damage Thick Hair Elastics for my ponytails and buns. The barrette is made of smooth plastic and has no clasp. I use this for everything from updos to down-dos, to side-dos to no-dos; all I do is gather my hair between the opening and slide the slender piece through the oval center.

The hair elastics are very sturdy and contain no metal. I like the fact that they do not elongate and stretch with continued use and only require only two simple loops around the hair for a secure non-headache producing ponytail. Both of these items can be found at drugstore.com.

Regular ponytail holders without the metal part, scrunchies, chopsticks, hair sticks and goody spin pins.

I use the ponytail holders made of sock material, goody spin pins, and occasionally I'll use hair sticks, but I haven't found a way to position the hair sticks so they're not pulling hair at the base of the scalp :perplexed

PJayne, I totally forgot about those, thats perfect!

1QTPie, You know, Scrunchies are really good, cause theres more material to grab without grabbing your hair! Good one!

Spring, Can you show me a pic of the holders made with sock material, I've never seen those!

Thank Yall So Much, I was so pissed earlier, I'm ok now!

Looks like I've got some shopping to do! :yep:

Okay, I googled "scunci ponytail holder made of sock material" and couldn't pull up anything but their elastic "No Damage" ponytail holders. It's weird that I'm having a hard time finding it to get a picture of it, but basically mine are black, they come in a pack of about 6, and their made out of sock material. I'm also going to try oiling my holders :yep: great idea.
