I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong.
why in most of the commericals with black women and natural hair, their hair gotta be lookin a hot mess. It looks like they just take a pick and tease their hair and if it looks like a bird's nest it looks good.

Really? I usually like the natural hair I see.. but there is one commercial, maybe McDonald's where it's like "what?"

that is the EXACT one i am talking about right now. her hair looks like hot **** (excuse my language)

Haven't seen any natural hair in commercials that made me feel that way myself.

Examples?

p1

eta: I'll look for it.

im talking about the mcdonald's commerical now...but i have seen some in the past that made me think is that how they see natural hair

I've seen an oreo commercial with what looks like a granddaughter and her grandmother racing to see which one can eat it the fastest. That po baby. She needed a comb. But she was relaxed.

All the natural hair I see on TV looks good except for this Dr. Miracles Ad

www.drmiracles.com

I haven't seen the McDonald's ad but I don't doubt that they did some stupid mess. They are always doing these black women girl friend soul sista girl um humhn ads. They get on my nerves:mad:

Who talks like that??!

I saw that one to, it had me like:confused:

It's probably because whoever that style their hair didn't know what the heck they were doing. On another note, the model or actress should have said something.

Well damn that hair in drmiracles looked like the girl sitting behind me in church yesterday. I had to do a double take.

I actually have seen quite a few really nice natural head in commericial and advertisments.

I guess I'm weird... I like the McDonald's commerical...

I think the girl in it is cute. Her hair is interesting :) . Not sure I would wear it though... definitely wouldn't wear it out anywhere.

OMG! That commercial kills me. And yes I did notice the hair. But I forgave the director because that is SO realistic. He was paying homage .

She was a cutie pie, so she and her grandma pulled off those horrible do's!

But yes, on most commercials (especially Garnier Fructis!!) I LOVE the natural hair.

I really haven't seen natural hair on T.V I don't like. It typically looks to die for.

I saw this too. It was sad.

Too funny!! :lachen: :lachen:

The Pantene relaxed and natural commercial bothers me (you know the one with "a lovley day" playing in the background) and not because the hair looks bad
I'm just insulted they are trying to tell me its real
It sure is "a lovely weave" though:lol:

Right!
I have never heard anyone talk or act like that.. not seriously
Does any one rember the Mc Donalds commercial for the asian walnut fruit salad (or sumptin lik dat) with the animated black women
One was a natural and I know they were only cartoons but I did not like her hair

Have yall seen the amp'd mobile commercial with the boyfriend and girlfriend sitting at the table. Her hair is SO CUTE!!! She's my hair idol

Dr. Miracle's ad pics are a sin! (explanation) Notice how the women are making these awful faces as if they cannot believe they have kinky hair....what message is that sending to naturals and to everybody else?...that we want to get rid of our hair!

Most of the natural women I've seen in commercials have nice looking hair...what commercials are you talking about where their hair looks a hot mess? Lol!

You know it's funny b/c my girl and I were just saying how it seems weird that damn near EVERY commercial and print as has a black woman/child sporting some type of natural picked out do! :yep: The wild hair look is definitely in right now, and while some of them look good, some look like hot :censored: :look:

Yes! I love that hairstyle!

I hate it when all I see are natural black women with 3c hair or mixed hair. Yeah, its great but what about the rest of us with coily coily hair?

Everytime I see that commercial, I wonder why they did not comb that little girl's hair...

My husband hates natural hair. He thinks anyone that walks around with their hair looking like that is jacked up. During the girlfriends episode last night, he could not believe the commentator with the natural do giving make up and dress tips during the breaks would be on television with such a jacked up head. I thought she looked ok.

That is the one I am talking about!!!

That commercial is a disgrace, I shake my head everytime I see it, that is just about as bad as asuming that all White women talk with a valley girl accent. I don't talk like that, nobody I know talks like that:mad:

Or the Burger King Commercial with the Chicken who wants to be a French Fry, the French Fries are obviously Black and they are the "wrong crowd". I know I may be reading too much into these but it still gets on my nerves

The other commercial that gets on my nerves is the Playstation commercial with the Mexican sounding dust balls & Black sounding squirrels:mad:

Most of these commercials annoy me, because they are a contrived/failed attempt at uplifting black folk.

The worst ones come on when you are watching Soul Train...SMH

DrMiracles is one business I'm really angry with!

There is an ad in Vibe Vixen with Kelis on the cover where a pretty girl with beautiful hair says "she needs a miracle". That's racist, stupid and ignorant. Why does she need a relaxer-miracle when her hair is growing, healthy and thick?

Black people are sometimes so hateful to themselves :nono:

Why present a natural black woman as something ugly - she needs a Miracle to save her from looking black. Wow!

This concerns me because I have met a number of Black men that feel this way. :perplexed

A coworker's husband said that he would not LET his wife go natural because he didn't want her walking around with Nappy hair:(

Very sad

I thought she looked FABULOUS!!! I even called my daughter over so that she could see her. Her WHOLE look (hair, clothes...just overall style) was well put together!

How come the women in these commercials always wear the same style? People with natural hair can do more than just shake and go's. And alot of the natural shake and goes are weaves....and how come whenever there is a black women is in a commercial her hair is natural? I almost never see a commercial with relaxed black hair...especially if there is a white women in the commercial too. What's up with that?

Oh have yall seen the yogurt commercial with the white woman and the black woman sitting on some lounge chairs eating yogurt in their robes? What was up with her weave?:perplexed

Every time I see that commercial all I can do is wonder......
