Smells like coffee/burnt almond concoction. I would put it in my hair overnight w/a plastic cap (I think I used too much) then washed in the AM about 1ce per week. I don't think my DH liked the smell of this one b/c he kept asking me if I smelled smoke or if something was burning :)

i love the restoritive treatment. i have been trying to figure out what to use on my hair this wknd. i may use the treatment as a pre poo and then use the ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner. i love the whole line (and use the leave in mist every week) but i keep forgetting about the line.
 
Hi Ladies, I've used the Ultra Hyrdating Shampoo and Conditioner and the Restorative Hair Treatment religiously. This is the only 98% wildcrafted brand out there, which means, they use as much as possible and as close as possible all natural ingredients in their products. Bear in mind this is not a line for hair growth, but for healthy hair care and strength. So if you get growth, great! but it's to strengthen your hair.

I'm about to start using SWA. At training this week I got all of the products that Ojon makes, every single line all full sized so I am very anxious about trying it. I wouldn't have been able to afford the full size products any other way.

Of course things work differently for every one, but one thing is, the products are good and it's really for every one.
 
I have used the Ojon kit and Yes it does work. It makes your hair super soft. It smells like coffee to me. I even use it on my 10 year old who had really corse hair. The revitilizing mist took out my 6 year old edges so not for every age and hair type. My 6 year old has fine curly hair. It actually grew my moms bangs out that wouldn't grow. Great Buy!
 
So far I'm liking all my Ojon products, I'm begining to think it may be that gateway product. I haven't use all the products yet but I can't wait, my hair is so soft right now from using the treatment as a leave-in and the hair spray. My hair is feeling silky let's hope the full system works great too!
 
Hey Trini, please keep us posted on how SWA works. I saw it on QVC about 2 weeks ago and was curious about it. It's a huge investment just to try it. I wish they offered a travel-size kit.

I tried SWA once and it didn't do any thing for me. When I spoke to the Ojon Sup about it, she said that might be because my hair was actually in a better condition than I thought. It's sulphate free so it doesn't lather and you need less product. I have the kit home, I only used it once and used just one vial of the leave in treatment and I put it to rest.

I think the Restorative Treatment is enough.

First, let me list both the pros and the cons of using this hair product.

PROS: 1) The product consists of 95% of all natural ingredients that will benefit your hair much better than those alternative synthetic conditioners found on the cosmetic shelves. 2) It can definitely work on all types of hair - especailly ethnic hair which tends to be on the dry side & therefore would need more emollients.

CONS: 1) Most of the ingredients (see below) that this product is made of can be found at your local health food store or ordered on-line from a herbal supply company at a fraction of the cost that Ojon is requesting. 2) The main ingredient in this product is simply oil. It's the same concept of the "hot oil treatment" but marketed in a different way in order to make Ojon seem more exotic. The fact is that using any oil - e.g. olive oil, coconut oil - will give you the same results.

Now, I am going to break down the ingredients label so that you can see what you are paying for.

Ingredient #1: Elaeis Oleifera is American Palm Oil. It is native to the tropical Central & South Americas and is a very low cost oil (10 cents per oz) so therefore it is widely used in many industries such as food, candles, & cosmetics. It is very emollient & leaves a non-greasy shine to the hair & skin. The entire base of this 5-oz jar is made up of this palm oil, so the cost is estimated to be no more than a total of 50 cents.

Ingredient #2: Lecithin is a natural emollient that is heavily found in egg yolks. It has great conditioning properties & feeds the skin & hair natural carbohydrates. Many local health food stores sell it for about $2 for a 16 oz bottle. A little goes a long way, so for or a 5 oz jar of oil, only 1/4 teaspoon of lecithin is required.

Ingredient #3: Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate, & Citric Acid are types of preservatives that many cosmetic industries are required to use to make sure that the oils do not go rancid. They do not contribute any benefits to the hair - they are only additives to ensure the product stays fresh longer.

Ingredient #4: Serenoa Serrulata (Saw Palmetto Extract), Citronellol (roselike odor derived from citronella oil), Linalool (liquid distilled from certain essential oils) & Parfum (a man-made fragrance) are all used to give this product it's unique "smokey" scent. Since most of this fragrance base is synthetic (& cheap), these ingredients do not contribute that much benefit

Ingredient #5: Prunus Africana. This may be the only ingredient worth paying attention to. It is an herbal extract derived from the bark of an African plant that many men have used to treat prostate illnesses. It has anti-swelling & healing properites. I would predict that this ingredient is added to promote balancing to the scalp, or to add a natural coloring to the oil (as most herbal extracts will do). But, since there is only a miniature amount used in this product, it is highly unlikely that there is enough to add any benefit whatsoever.

Now that I have listed a breakdown of what you are paying $55 for, it is up to you whether you want to try this product or not. It's not a bad product, but it's definitely not the greatest or most original product either to justify paying that much money. My suggestion to you is to go to the local health food store, buy some natural oils & herbs for about $7, and create your own conditioning hair oil. Apply it to your hair the same way that you would apply this Ojon (as a pre-shampoo treatment) and not only will you get the same if not better results, but you will have enough money left over to go towards something more practical.
 
Every Friday night faithfully, I saturate my hair with the oil. I leave it on overnight and through Saturday. On Sunday, I wash my hair with L'anza products and DC and rollerset with the Revitalizing Mist.

My hair is always soft and silky.

I bought the 16oz. oil and mist so I could use them generously. I love them.

I also think that the more consistently you use it the better the results. My hair is NEVER dry...even through this dry Georgia weather we've been having this year.

These are my staples and I am glad that they work for you!

Ojan is okay, but I prefer not to pay all that money when the main ingredient is palm oil. Haitian people have used palm oil generations on skin and hair. I have bottle of it in cabinet now. You can go to any Caribbean or African store and get an 8oz bottle for $5 or less. It is very thick, you may need to dilute it.

The main product in ojon is palm kernel oil not palm oil. Palm oil is red while palm kernel oil used in ojon is brown. Visit the ojon website and watch the videos.:yep:
 
I tried the ultra hydrating conditioner after doing a treatment that severely dried out my hair. Immediately on contact my hair was soft, easy to detangled and moisturized. It has the signature "woodsy" smell. After I rinsed it out my hair still felt soft and moisturized. I rollerset my hair and tried under the pibbs, the next day when I woke and took out the rollers my hair was very soft and fluffy! I only used a little setting lotion mixed with water, my hair still felt moist, was very fluffy but not weighed downed. Another winner from the ojon line, the conditioner reminds me of a conditioner I used to rave about called Karites 5% shea butter treatment, it was so hard to find after awhile but now I think I've found a suitable replacement! I'm so happy with the line, today has been 48 hours since I've washed my hair and I've since used other products yet the ojon "woodsy" scent is still present.
 
Ojon is my best friend. I can bleach AND dye my hair in the same day, apply Ojon leave in and have silky locks. Hair never dry or brittle! Ojon is on auto delivery for me.
 
I have the restorative hair treatment and ultra hydrating conditioner. I wanted to get the other stuff eg the mist but was put off by the ingredeints - they contain cones and parabens. Why would I pay a premium price to get a product that contains MAJORITY of the stuff found in cheaper products??
Anyway I got the big jar of the RHT and used it weekly till it finished. I have to say overtall it was nothing special. I loved the smokey smell and it seemed to give my hair more shine but I didn't notice less dryness or breakage overall. The ultra hydrating conditioner was just okay.
The price of a product does not matter to me if it gives me amazing results. I will pay almost anything for the right product. So I had no hesitation in forking out the cash for Ojon but will not repurchase 'cos overall it was nothing special. I am not prepared to spend on a product which 1. does little or nothing OR 2. has similar ingredients to cheaper products. Thats a kind of false advertising. I suspect Ojon may work better for relaxed heads.
I too purchased palm kernel oil which I am experimenting with mixed with JBCO as a pre-poo. So far it gives my hair a lovely dark sheen as well.
 
I saw some of these products on QVC over the holiday season. Man!!!! I didn't know they were so expensive. :ohwell: But excellent reviews. :yep:
 
There have been some mixed reviews on Ojon...

However, I was looking for a moisturizing conditioner and decided to give Ojon Ultra Hydrating Conditioner a chance. I bought the travel size for a trial test...

I was indeed pleased with this conditioner.:grin: As I applied the conditioner on my hair it melted in my strands and the comb glided gently. I sat under the dryer for 20 min.

I was a little nervous after I rinsed the conditioner out because my hair didn't feel as silky as when I applied the conditioner. However, when my hair dried that's when I was amazed! :love:

I was going through a little dry spell and my hair looked and felt hydrated after the use of Ojon. I noticed a nice natural shine as well. My hair felt moist but yet strong, and not weighed down.

I'm 4a/b fine relaxed, 5 wks post. And I was impressed with Ojon Ultra Hydrating Conditioner. I probably won't use it weekly b/c it's very rich but I will incorporate it into my regimen!

Sidenote- I always apply a dime size of coconut oil on my wet hair to seal in the moisture. And I must say it responded well with Ojon. Way better than my other conditioners...probably b/c Ojon has natural ingredients...
 
i love love love the revitalizing mist and it is a staple.
ive tried other products by ojon that i like but nothing is a staple except the mist.
