Do these really moisturise the hair? I know that oil does not offer moisture but i'm a bit confused on this one also products like ORS carrot and olive oil:confused: . I usually use water based moisture then an oil moisturiser like EQP oil remoisturiser then oil to seal is this overkill?

sometimes I think "oil moisturizer" is just in the name. My favorite moisturizers all have some kind of oil in them, they just aren't oil based.

I think it's just best to llok at the ingredients.

I "make" my own my mixing my oil of choice (e.g. almond oil or essential oil blend) with a conditioner (e.g. humectress). Oil Moisturizers as sold at the BSS never helped my hair retain moisture, it just left it greasy.

ok so what about if you add oil to your hmde moisturizer is it the same? Is it even beneficial?

This is what I do as well--just conditioner and oil mixed together and voila.:) No need to go and spend more money on products.
