Official Healthy Hair Group At My School

I'm so excited, I just wanted to share with you all that I officially started a new organization on my campus called LOCKS, Ladies Owning their Curls Kinks and Straights

Its a healthy hair group that educates about healthy hair practices, and discusses many of the issues that women of color have that stem from not being confident in their hair. Oh, and like the name says, its for all women, naturals, straight naturals, relaxed, texlaxed, etc..

Our first meeting was today and over 50 people came out to support and everyone seemed really interested and eager for future meetings.

It was such a long process getting chartered by the school, that i'm just so glad it was worth it!

That's great, I'm happy for you.. that sounds fun and positive . I wish someone had started a group like this when I was in college, I would've been allll over it.. my hair broke off somethin serious back then.

LisaMar I hope she came out! Our first meeting was very last minute because we just got charted Friday, so she may not have heard about it. You should definitely let her know to look out for future meetings, they'll be fun!

My hair started going downhill in college.
