I need help maintaining them. Ladies, please advise me on what i can do to make sure my ends don't go back to mess they were before my cut. TIA!!

i recommend Profectiv healthy ends and garnier fructis length and stength leave-in. Keep your end tucked away in protective hair styles or at least keep your ends from rubbing on your clothes. Wrap your hair at night and even baggy your ends once in a while. i have been doing this for three months a i havent seen any split ends yet.:yep: Good luck!!

Protective styles during the day, baggy at night. Works like a charm :yep:

Avoid brushing your hair roughly. Always comb your hair from the ends up. Shampoo gently and never try to detangle with a comb when you shampoo instead use your fingers. At the first sign of damaged ends get a trim from someone you trust, this way you won't end up with damage that goes way up the hair shaft.

Staying away from direct heat is the most important. Moisturize and apply castor oil to ends every night. These things have helped me the most.

I relaxed yesterday and also cut a huge cut because of awful ends. I think it was old left over no-lye relaxer ends because I moisturized and sealed, baggied at night, never used heat or wore my hair out and my ends were still a mess.

I am considering trying this product from Salerm.
[SIZE=-1]Salerm Biokera Restructuring Treatment for Ends

Does anyone have any feedback on it?

i don't have any feed back on the product, but perhaps your hair can't handle the baggy. i tried it once and never again, my hair got all mushy and started breaking. have you tried just a braid or two and clipping them up? that is what helped my ends.

I found that using lacio lacio on damp ends and then sealing with an oil like jojoba or castor really helped me. I think the silk in lacio lacio made the difference.

Deep condition regularly and focus more of the product on the ends. Add more to the ends in the midst of your session if you need to. Also, I like to apply a drop or two of oil to my hands rub it in and apply to the ends of my hair (the last 3-4 inches), usu. every other day. Great results so far. :D

More trims may be in order until you cut away all the damaged hair. I see you joined the board in August 2007--I always tell people when they join that whatever they were doing before they joined stays with them until that hair more or less grows out and is trimmed off. I know that's not what you want to hear, but we were all there at one time or another. From your pic in your avatar, it looks like I can see a clear line of demarcation between healthy hair and older hair that may have been damaged before you got into a good, healthy hair routine

You may need to do a few more gradual trims over time. I had to do this to get rid of my no-lye ends.

I'm definitely going to stop baggying and just rely on moisturizing the ends and pincurling at night.

ITA.
I have been trimming for over a year. All of the "old" hair is finally gone, and I have a head full of healthy hair. It's actually shorter than it was last year at this time. :ohwell: But now it's all about gaining length and keeping it healthy.

ETA-- Deep condition...moisture...oil. Deep condition...moisture...oil. Deep condition...moisture...oil.
