I've called about 10 salons in the Southern MD area and nobody will put in my relaxer. Not even on the side!!! They all say that you have to use what they have and that sucks. I'm scared to put it in myself...anyone have any suggestions?

as a liability most salons won't let you do that. If you do bring your own, they make you sign a waiver of responsibility. And Phyto is very particular about stylist just using the relaxer without proper training.

If you can't find anyone to do it you may have to find a salon that uses Phyto to begin with and negotiate the price since you're bringing your own product. I'm not too sure how far you are from the Rockville area, but there is a salon called Progressions that uses Phyto relaxers (but they are very expensive).

Did you call Phyto? They have a directory of Phyto salons. There might be on in your area. There's one about 3 hours from me, but I've been too lazy to make the drive and I texturize with Phyto. I wasn't sure they would want to do that since Phyto isn't marketted as a texturizer.

You should call PR and Partners. They have several salons in the DC area that use this relaxer. I believe there is a location in Friendship Heights that does it. And Shirley Gordon may use it at her salon in Wheaton? Good Luck!

Hey, Sereca. I didn't know your name was a tribe of the Iroquois nation. Cool! I just found out by *drum roll please* reading! LOL!

It truly is fundamental.:D

A friend of mine goes to CeCe at PR in Friendship heights. They use Phyto and CeCe does a helluva a blowout!

:lachen: Reading is fundamental but don't feel bad. I never read that. It's really just a play on my real name.

I'm not a phyto user so pardon my ignance. Can't you self relax with phyto? I mean compared to other relaxers? I was thinking about using phyto but if it has to be put in by someone else, I'll pass.

You can self relax with any relaxers.

Try a Dominican salon. From my experience, they will usually apply a relaxer if you bring it in. ;)

Yeah.. they usually have no problems with people bringing in their own products.

That's why I've decided to dump stylists for relaxers. When u learn how to do it yourself, it gives you some control over what happens to your hair. It also gives you the freedom to relax whenever u want. I hope u find the answers u seek.
