What's the one No-No that you keep doing to your hair that never works, but you keep doing it anyway? :spinning:

For me, it is washing my natural hair loose instead while plaited!:wallbash:

I start to get happy about my hair's look and feel and decide to just get in shower and wash my hair LOOSE.

Afterwards....... I spend so much time trying to finger detagling, hearing some strands rip and loosing a big ball of hair!

I always vow to only wash while in plaits......but then I do IT all again:wallbash::wallbash: Am I just crazy?

constant manipulation b/c I'm always changing my style for puff to twistout to bun to low bun. And then I want to detangle b4, so I feel like I'm losing alot more hair then I should.

Also not regularly applying moisturizer. Sometimes I just get distracted.

for me,

it's TOO low manipulation.

i find that my hair thrives when i (at least) rinse daily and comb at least once a week, otherwise it just gets tangled and dry. i thought i could get away with it by wearing twists to keep my hair untangled, but i still get more tangles than i want.

whenever i try to go on the super low manipulation, i always end up regretting it more than benefitting from it. i try not to mess with it too much after i do my rinsing/re-twisting, though.

also,

when i go back to using regular shampoos. i like the clean clean feel, but my hair feels so strippppppped. i think i'll just stick with my blended beauty volcanic clean mask (when i can get some) and/or try the whole conditioner w/ baking soda added thing.

annnnd

not being consistent w/ the products my hair loves/that work because i think i'll find something better.

Skipping henna treatments is a no-no. My hair absolutely loves them, but I've got a thousand excuses at the ready.

washing my hair too damn much.

Ill get all excited about this new product I just bought, or the way my hair feels today, and go get in the shower and wash my hair.... 5 times a week. *slaps forehead*

1. Getting caught up into moisturizing every other day knowing full well that my hair likes at least a lil-bit-o'-moisture every day.

2.Co-washing.

3. Washing too much when my relaxer's new and not enough when I'm several weeks post.

4. Using emergencee only once a month. My hair likes this weekly/biweekly.

5. Hacking off my hair thinking that it'll look like some of the beautiful sister's here. My hair is fine AND thinner. No amount of chopping is going to give me Chaka Khan's bigness... and that's real. lol I've learned to love what I've got. It's a blessing just the same. :yep:

In the past, I used to manipulate too much and comb too often. Everything I do now (which is very little) my hair likes and I am really scared to do anything new for now and upset the balance.

It is finally dawning on me (by the amount of hair I lost) that my hair does not like to be combed while WET!

Forget the posts about detangling in the shower. :wallbash:

I've decided to give up the BAGGY!

I've been bagging my hair for close to a year now and honestly I don't think it has made any DIFFERENCE! :wallbash:

My hair HATES being combed while wet. The only time a comb comes near my hair when it's wet is under running water but most of the time I just finger combit. I have to allow my hair to dry to at leas 90% before I can comb it.
