No/Low Heat Styles for Dates? Relaxed/Natural/Transitioning....

I find that the only time I get tempted to use a lot of heat on my hair, or even to really wear it down is for dates. I'm trying to reduce my heat usage in 2010, but I still want to look nice when I go out with my boyfriend, or my friends.

Any suggestions? As usual, PICS are great  I'm relaxed, but I'd love to see all kinds of textures and styles.

I think braidouts and caruso sets are a good option that you don't need heat for. ETA: Bantu knot outs are great too, mine don't come out well, but I'll keep trying.

I took these myself so these are the best angles I could get.

You could also try bantu-knot outs, those are absolutely beautiful and you get great curl definition. I'll go and try to find a good example

ETA: I found this with google.

I second the braidouts/twistouts option!! so pretty for dates, and even jazzed up with a clip or headband or something...

Seebee3, your Caruso set is gorgeous!!!

I agree with the other ladies, twistouts/bantu knots are a really pretty option.

Here's my bantu-knot out from last week (I'm relaxed). I prefer larger, looser waves, so I only did 5 knots.

twist-outs are really versatile, they look pretty worn down or even pinned up loosely with some big earrings (for a date)

I like silk wraps. Sometimes I'll use a flat iron on my bangs - I'm still working on how to deal with them so they lay right.

and or silk wrap and then put two rod curlers on dry hair and sit under the dryer (on low) for 10 minutes.

Sorry, I don't have any pics.

For dates, nothing says sexy like a loose updo with some casual ringlets hanging down. If you did this, you could get away with a rollerset/bantu/or twistout as well as show some length.

Cute hairstyles! I think over the winter break, I'm going to practice these styles. I'll definitely post pics.

How do you do a silk wrap?

Air dried roller set.

I wonder how long it would take my rollersets to air-dry? My hair is about an inch and a half above APL

After I air dry (I seal it with a small amount of Argan Oil and comb my hair straight down and sit under the dryer for about five minutes and then let it finish drying naturally), I apply a little coconut/amla oil on my hair and lately, I follow it with a little Chi Silk Infusion, cross wrap it and then wrap saran wrap (I use whole food's plastic wrap actually) and sit under the dryer on low for 15 minutes. Then take off the plastic wrap and go.

Sometimes, I'll put in two large flex rods to help add body and add a gentle bump to the ends. I usually will leave them in until I'm finished getting ready.

Macherieamour used to have a tutorial - although she roller sets first and then silk wraps when it's dry. My hair takes an hour to an hour and half to dry in roller sets and I just don't have the patience. And I think all of that time under the dryer, dries out my scalp. But I'm kind of thinking about buying the French mesh rollers (http://www.fashion-megastore.com/ve...ofessionnel-sans-brosse-1,0_2085_2091,0,1.htm) and trying out roller setting again.
