No heat, No Manipulation, It really works!!

Well, I tried a no heat style today that seems to work nice. I washed and conditioned with Keracare then I applied some PCA for moisture along with my Shear Splendor serum. I let the hair hair dry about 60% and then put it in a simple bun with a hair claw to hold the back.

I am going to rinse again with a conditioner and see how I do tomorrow. I realized that what I have to limit is moisturizers with oil in them. Those pull too much on my hair and make it snap because it is weighed down. As long as I use some moisture and a serum to seal it, I think I can work this. And this clasp does not cause me to pull on the top of my hair. We'll see how it goes!

Kudos to you, sis, that is TERRIFIC. I too have found that my hair THRIVES with less manipulation and minimal heat. I wear a bun usually 7 days out of the week, and i only remove the pins once in the evening, to shake it out with my fingers, apply my topical growth products and moisturize, then re-bun. The only heat i use is the indirect heat of the hooded dryer when i wash/roller set once a week. And this has totally worked in allowing me to retain my growth. Its a beautiful feeling, isnt it, to discover something like this that really works. :) Im really excited for you, and happy continued hair growth.

I am doing the same thing lately but I am using the Caruso Steam Rollers after airdrying.

How are you airdryiing your hair before you use your Carusos?

BTW, I too love her hair (in your signature). On OLTL, she is always swinging it beautifully!

Hello all :)

I've been no heat for three weeks now, cowashing and just air drying in a pony tail. I relaxed my hair today, and I lost very little hair  , and usually, I have at least a palm full. Today, maybe about 20 strands were in the comb. I'm trying to stay on the no heat regimen until at least August (I'm going on vacation), and after that, I'll probably resume no heat until winter (I'm in Chicago, so airdrying will be difficult). Anyway, so far, I'm very pleased :D

ok. I feel you all with the no heat (although I am addicted). I already don't manipulate (read-comb), so I'm cool there.

My hair is natural and past shoulders in front and APL in back. I am getting good growth w/MSM and Biotin (I have to shave my legs and arms constantly and had to teach myself how to wax because the eyebrows and bikini line were costing me a fortune) but, I think the heat is causing it to break so I'm not seeing as much length as I should.

I airdry in a ponytail and that is good for a day until the front around my face starts to roll-up and get fuzzy. How do you keep it looking nice. I am a professional woman and if I go to work looking all fuzzy, they are going to think I lost my mind. Curly and Controlled good:) --fuzzy and rolled-up BAD:naughty: .

How are you ladies wearing your hair daily? Also, my hair is fine and fairly thin. TIA

One trick I learned here from Sylver2 is to apply NTM Silk Touch leave-in on your hair, after it has dried, especially the fuzzy part you're talking about or the newgrowth. Then tie a satin scarf over that. After a few minutes, the hair will lay down flat.

Also, I recently learned here about using a serum called Aveda Brilliant Emollient Gloss. This helps keep the hair from becoming fuzzy or frizzy and adds beautiful shine.

I wear side buns, braidouts, braided buns or French Twists daily.

Hey ladies,
I did a mini no heat challenge for a month just because I was curious to what the results would be. So last night I relaxed. Eve though relaxing was tough with all the newgrowth, IT REALLY WORKS! I gained an whole inch in the back and an 1/2 inch in the front. I didn't post pics in my fotki yet (I'm still at school) but I will tonight in this thread.

For the last month, I washed deep conditioned twice a week and use Emergencee every 2 weeks. Moisturized daily, and just slicked my hair into a pony. No heat used except to DC and no combing except on wash days to detangle.

It really works, I can't wait to update with pics tonight (give me time lol). I was just so anxious to clue you ladies in.

All people who doubt should atleast TRY this. It really works, I am so estatic:grin:

I think I may move my BSL challenge up to the end of this summer!!!!

I'm going to do this after this weekend. I am going out of town and, when I get back, no more heat and very low manip. for at least 4 weeks. Thanks, Mizani! :p
