Well your hair hasn't grown back, so he needs to tell you why or you need to go to another dermatologist. Try to get recommendations from people for good derms.

I was thinking 3a or b as well. It waves when brushed out, but left alone those look like big corkscrews.

everytime i go to the dermatologist they worry about the dandruff. I be telling them that i'll worry about that later. They keep prescribing me some shampoos that dont work. They think the dandruff is causing the hairloss but i have more dandruff where i have full thick hair.
