Nighttime Regime for Naturals

I apply my mega-Tek to the scalp, and spritz, tie on my doo-rag, and head to bed - that's it.
I rarely wear my hair loose, so it's usually in some sort of twists/updo/fixed style when I go to bed.

Same here. My hair is rarely out....actually I might try to post a pic of my recent twist out. With some help of course....

The first week while my hair is in twists I don't put too much on it. I just tie it down with a satin scarf. When I take the twists out I may spray some oil sheen and/or some grapeseed oil every other night. I make sure the hair and ends are lying flat so the next day I just fluff with my fingers and go. So far I don't have to put too much products on my hair to keep it moisturized.

Just RE-Posing the question - wasn't sure if folks realized I was asking instead of stating. This spritz thing intrigues me...

Again - forgive the newbieness. I'm really new to this spritzing / sealing notion -

So i just spritz my hair with water mist... and then apply my pomade to it (whatever it is - right now it's Castor Oil treatment)?

I slather hair in coconut milk/honey(or whatever my mood, EVOO/Honey...etc), baggy, wrap it and crash. If I'm not DCing that night I pull the ends into a soft pony. Spray my ends with my glycerin/distilled water/aloe vera gel moisturizing spray, baggy the ends, wrap with silk scarf and beddy bye.

This is wonderful - all my questions are really getting serious clarity right now.

A question about the twist method - I mentioned in another thread that I have some thinness at the temples and nape - how do you go about dealing with trouble spots in terms of twisting? Do you just smooth them down with whatever moisturizer and then twist everything else? Or do you get them to twist as well?

If your hair is long enough in those areas than I would incorporate them in the twists. If not, don't try to force the hair in the twists just put in as much as you can. You can still keep the really short areas moisturized.

  1. Undo pigtail bantu baggies
  2. Spritz with moisturizing solution (concentrate on ends
  3. Apply hair moisturizer (concentrate on ends)
  4. Apply sealer
  5. Redo bantus
  6. Overlay baggies on each bantu
  7. Put on silk scarb
  8. Go to bed

When you spritz your hair, its usually with a water based moisturizer, or one you mixed up your self, or a leave in conditioner in a spritz bottle.

1. I co wash, or water rinse my hair,
2. I spritz with a mix of: water glycerin, whatever conditioner I like at the time, aloe vera gel, EO.
3. seal with EVOO, or coconut oil.
Put on a silk cap and go to bed.

For the past couple of months, I've been bunning a lot, so, I've been rinsing and adding coconut oil and/or Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream, two ponytail scrunchies and wrap the hair around so that the ends are tucked under the scrunchie. If I'll be wearing my hair out the next day (unless I'm doing something special with my hair), I rinse and add a little coconut oil and Herbal Essence (HH or DS) conditioner and make the same two scrunchie knots and in the AM I add a little Qhemet BRBC to my ends and allow it to air dry.
